Anybody try these, yet? I see that they're back ordered everywhere, so somebody must be using them..........

Those do look like a nice iron. Too bad nobody will make an iron head with a decent upright lie. Yeah, I could pay to have them bent, but with a 2° bending "limit" even that option doesn't do me much good. My irons are @ 3° upright. Looks like if I ever want another set of irons, I'm gonna be building my Dynacraft PC3 uprights or buying a bending machine again.

Received the heads today. I weighed them and they are pretty close to specifications. The disappointing news is that the faces are not flat, either concave or convex, with the exception of the six and eight iron.

How do you measure face flatness? Just lay a straightedge across it? It never occurred to me to even check that.

sdandrea1 I never thought it was a problem until I read a response in the old Golfworks forum about the reason Golfworks doesn't test Hireko irons, poor quality control and the faces aren't flat. This was before Hireko acquired Dynacraft. At the time I had set of Acer Callaway Hawkeye clones and sure enough those faces were not flat.

Not exactly sure where this 'face flatness' talk is leading. A lot(putting it mildly) have bought Hireko irons and played them. I'm assuming, played them 'well' or up to their personal level of play. Are the faces flat on my irons? I have no idea, and I have a few different sets from various companies. Would it make a difference if they are not flat? Again, I have no idea. What I do know is the fact that almost all driver faces are not flat, and if they are, can be a hindrance to performance. So, maybe Hireko knows something with the way they do manufacturing.

Am I checking my irons after I post this? Hell no; I got better things to do.😜

Of course they are. But, how do we know the iron heads from Hireko are not designed the same way, maybe even convex instead of the concave, as in bulge & roll? Even within the same set. As I stated, "a lot" of people are using them/have used them, and continue to do so. The question remains is if their games have been hindered by the heads. Or maybe even helped.

Are you returning the heads for a refund?

An iron club face is supposed to be FLAT not concave or convex.

The face of the club must be hard and rigid and must not impart significantly more or less spin to the ball than a standard steel face (some exceptions may be made for putters). Except for such markings listed below, the club face must be smooth and must not have any degree of concavity.

darpar So, after a couple years of play with any forged heads, and with a low 'capper using them, those irons that have that little quarter size worn spot in the center......are now non-conforming, eh?? If you've flattened the grooves, the faces will be concave.

I'll be damned...... the way those OEMs lobby the USGA!! Gotta buy more clubs/more often. Smart engineers.

Flatness check complete! In my set of 4i-aw, all are perfectly flat except for the 6i which does have a little convex to it. It's really minor, I can't imagine that would impact playability.

I've never checked any faces for flatness before, so I don't know what is normal. I'll have to go pull out my Wishon set and see how those stack up.

The MB heads look pretty slick though. Kind of a fat blade look.
