  • Lexington, KY golf Thursday, Friday, Saturday (6.22-6.24)?

I've had a change of plans so I'll be in Lexington visiting my daughter and son-in-law next week. They are busy with work or other commitments during the work week so I'm going to get out and play golf during the day. Saturday my SIL and I will play so there's room for a couple more if you can join us . I have a car so I don't mind driving to meet up, within reason.

My SIL thinks Old Silo is on its last legs....hate to hear of the demise of formerly highly ranked courses.

I haven't played it this year but a nice track is the Golf Club Of The Bluegrass 4 miles out Harrodsburg Rd. from Lexington. Cherry Blossom near Georgetown is also interesting.

Rickochet - Thanks Rick. I will check both out. I know now that Saturday is filled and we are playing Lexington CC but I was looking for new tracks in the area for Thursday and Friday.

In addition to LCC, I thought Griffin Gate, Peninsula, The Bull, and Houston Oaks were all solid courses in the area. I had a couple of others I was going to ask the SIL about in the Georgetown area but Cherry Blossom wasn't one I had penciled in.

All that you have mentioned are very nice courses but I haven't played them in years so I don't have any idea about condition. Griffin Gate I am sure is good being linked with the Marriott Inn. The Bull is one of my favs but don't know about condition. Do check with Cherry Blossom as I am sure it is in nice shape.

I just remembered the University of Kentucky Club on Leestown Rd. It used to be called the Players Club. It is now open to the public with two 18 hole courses. The Big Blue course is a hoot. The other is the Wildcat and Ok.

So, what did you choose. Friday was a very very wet day.

Had a change of plans Friday so I was able to take a daughter to the Cincy airport in the morning and then the rains came in the afternoon.

We played Lexington CC Saturday afternoon. How incredible they allowed carts in the rough after 3 inches of rain Friday and the course drained beautifully.
