Well, not much of a Netflix guy, although I am enjoying "The Killing" at the moment. Started watching it about a month ago and almost through the first season.

Also have really enjoyed the "Breaking Bad" spinoff, "Better Call Saul." I'm current on the season with this, got the DVR set to record it each week. Not quite as exciting as Breaking Bad, but nevertheless interesting. For those not familiar, the guy who wrote/produce Breaking Bad decided to do a background series that led up to the Breaking Bad series, in reverse order. Kinda different in that manner... usually there's a sequel, I guess you could call this a prequel.

Also have thoroughly enjoyed "Billions" on Showtime, starring Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti. The second season just ended a few weeks ago, and I'm completely bummed that I have to wait until Feb 2018 before the next season starts.

House of Cards is on the list... the 4th season just started a week or so ago. Kevin Spacey, like Paul Giamatti, is one of my all-time favorites. I thought the 3rd season was so-so, hoping this current season is a little more entertaining.

I'm considering "Shameless", starring William H. Macy, which several of my friends absolutely love. From what I hear it's a bit raunchy, although I guess I'll have to check it out and see for myself.

What are you guys into?

Actually just watched Beau Davidson and the original Tokens do an update to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".

    Awesome.

AGT and now WLD Clash in the Canyon....430+yd. drives..... YES!!!!

The Killing is good, watched it a few years ago. Seasons 1&2 especially. If you like it , you might like The Fall, Top of the Lake, Broadchurch , The Brigde ( Norwegian version)

I like Homeland, Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Better call Saul, Preacher, Hannibal, Stranger Things , Sherlock, Black Mirror....not sure if all are on Netflix

The Night Manager was a good 6 part series

Two iff the wall comedies on NF are Lilyhammer and Santa Clarita Diet. Love them both

I don't watch much TV other than sports or cooking shows. One of my recent favorite shows was The Good Wife (RIP). I watched Designated Survivor, but it was kind of ridiculous. I enjoy Homeland, and have watched every season. I like Law and Order SVU, but I don't follow it. I watch reruns occasionally when they are on.

        You've never watched Breaking Bad?

If not, you might find it worth checking out. It used to be on Netflix, not sure that it still is. Ranks right up there with The Soprano's as far as best non-cable tv series ever imo.

Thanks for the heads up regarding Night Manager, I'll have to check it out.

Never got into Walking Dead... tried to stay interested through the first season, but it just didn't appeal to my tastes.
Stranger Things was interesting, but haven't tuned in beyond the first season. Homeland was fairly interesting through the first two seasons, but lost interest with the storyline shortly into the third season. Might be worth revisiting, if the following seasons have improved.

Thanks. Enjoyed the first season. I guess I have something to look forward to in October now, especially since it appeals to my 1980's-era upbringing. 🙂

The Good Wife is an incredibly good show. My wife and I are watching it now as "our show" but there's only 3 episodes left so I'm gonna miss it when we finish. Probably move on to The Good Fight after that. We started watching Homeland and got through several seasons but at some point that series went off the rails for me and I've lost interest. My wife really likes Nashville but I'm not really into it.

I really liked the killing, supposed to be based off of a Danish series which I'd like to get my hands on....dark And dreary, lots of mystery
...my kind of series.....I just go through 12 monkeys the series....and I liked it, sci Fi....they do a fairly good job with character development. Not much of a sci-fi guy, but I could easily get into this/it.

They hit their drives the same distance and longer than most par 4 holes....................stoopid long!

Saw several episodes of HBO's The Leftovers over the last three seasons. Same guy that did Lost (never watched Lost). Anyway, the last episode after 3 seasons aired Sunday night.

The premise of the series was that on a certain day 2% of the population disappeared. Just vanished. Thought the show was well acted (especially Carrie Coon and Justin Theroux), but very strange / weird.

I would've liked a better arc to the series. Anyway, it kind of answered some questions, but left the viewer with a couple of scenarios to choose from.

My nephew tells me Fargo on FX is good. Carrie Coon is in that also, so I'll have to check it out.

I think there's a serious need for a mafia-themed series again. Granted, whatever would emerge would fall short of The Sopranos...

But still... I could go for a 3-season type deal of something similar to "The Departed" with a little bit of "Goodfellas" thrown in for good measure.

DiCaprio, as the lead, for starters. Add to the cast as you wish.

We've not had a good mob movie in a long while.

            PA-PLAYA

I think it's Reelz that has several one hour shows on Mobsters. I caught the one on Whitey Bulger that was good. Being from Massachusetts I remember that well. Also, play golf with a guy who grew up with Whitey Bulger in South Boston. Says he really wasn't that tough of a kid until he put a gun in his hand.

The Departed is a good movie, but is loosely based on the Whitey Bulger case. The Johnny Depp movie Black Mass is more accurate.

Bulger literally got away with multiple murders because he was an FBI informant. Back in the 70's the FBI was more interested in taking down the Italian Mafia in the north end of Boston. Bulger grew up with the FBI agent (John Connolly) who handled him. He's in jail now himself for allowing this to happen.
