Some other pics if the course-
Some other pics if the course-
Looks like a beautiful course.
If I played there those sheep would have to don hardhats though.
That's taking the Scottish Links course theme a little too far.
Maybe the sheep are part of the new maintenance plan.."You know, instead of guys riding those lawn mowers all over the place, we'll just herd some sheep..."
Prefer the sheep to the year round geese we have here....goose crap everywhere. Ugh!
They are at Whistling Straights and roam both the Irish and Straights course....was on the Irish yesterday and they were coming down 12 fwy towards the tee and then went down the slope to 14 fairway/green and on to the left side of 15 tee.
It was a fun day...always enjoy getting out there, the course very challenging, but fun to play.
ode Irish Course is nice and walkable. Whistling Straits a bit tougher and too high priced for me.. Erin Hills will be tough on the out of shape at US Open next month. I played Erin Hills and Whisting Straits when they opened....you really do need a caddy.
I want to get up to Sand Valley, Nekoosa, WI this year or next before it gets out of my price range.
Erin Hills looks incredible. And it also looks incredibly difficult based on some of the flyovers I've seen.
It might be a tough spectating experience on-site there for sure, but I think the television viewers are in for quite a pleasant four days of unique scenery.
scotts33 I've heard great things about Sand Valley and the slope rating and yardage is reasonable too....the plan is to get there in the fall, but ??
It will def be interesting to see what the USGA does at Erin.....and what will the yardage be....I've heard they could accommodate 8k+.....but don't expect that to ever happen as that is crazy long.
Last week was a good week for golf hitting up Wild Rock and the Irish.
