I am sure that he is struggling with his sponsors already. This won't help. I really think Tiger lost his direction after Earl died. I know he won't be at the soup kitchen next week but so sad to see such talent fail to reach its potential.

“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods wrote in his statement. “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.” Woods apologized to his fans and pledged to “do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.” Woods closed his statement by thanking the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office.

Woods is currently recovering from surgery that will keep him sidelined through at least the summer.

From what I read, Earl was a part of the debauchery. I also read that those 2 weren't on speaking terms until not too long before his death.

If you belive that BS , I have a magic unicorn you might be interested in, great price.

He failed to say why he refused the breathalyzer in his statement .
Called the cop a liar who said he smelled alcohol on his breath after pulling him over for driving erratically . That he acted " arrogantly" was slurring, smelling like booze ..... Driving away from his home and his restaurant .

If that is the case that might explain a lot.

Yeah, there seems to be multiple sources out there (all unconfirmed at this point obviously) that he refused the breathalyzer and wasn't quite as "cooperative" as he claimed in the prepared statement.

The thing is you never know whether that stuff will be detailed in the final police report, as I'm sure this isn't something that a few outings with the Jupiter Police Dpt/Palm Beach County sheriff's office won't take care of in a hush-hush manner.

But it sounds like he's got far more serious things to worry about now than his image. And if he refuses to address them, we've yet to see just how much lower his rock-bottom goes.

From what I am reading the info being sourced is from law enforcement , but I agree , who knows what might end up in the final report.

All I know is that reports (apparently coming from law enforcement ) are he was pulled over for driving erratically at what was it 3 am, smelled like booze ( meds don't make you smell like alcohol) , refused a breathalizer. ( why refuse a breathalizer when you weren't drinking, you blow good you likely go home and nothing else happens)

Looks, sounds like a duck to me

So, if he refused the breath stuff doesn't he have to get a blood sample test or can he refuse that as well?

                Rickochet

From what I have read so far, no, they can't force you into any type of sample giving. They can take a sample if you are unconscious.

Apparently , 40% of people stopped for suspected DUI in Florida refuse the breathalizer. This way you are not providing evidence against yourself and they have a much more difficult time charging you with DUI , the DUI carries a heavier penalty than refusal to provide a breathalizer , which is just a temporary suspended liscence

Meds gives you alcohol breath if that's what you take them with.

Which begs the question........what was he doing out at 3 am? I know that's none of my business but it makes me wonder.....and dressed like that. So Sad.

                Earl was the role model

                Rickochet

The truth is never as simple as it looks sometimes. While I don't think Earl was exactly a perfect role model for his son, I also know that we're only allowed a very small window to look through regarding Tiger's life, and outside of the scandal - we really don't have much of a perspective of how he lives off the course.

I do think however that the scandal revealed a few things.

He obviously led a different life when he wasn't home. He showed no interest in coming clean when the initial allegation hit the airwaves with the first mistress, and when it became obvious that all of these other women he bedded saw an opportunity to make some serious money in tell-all interviews following that - he was left with no other choice but to admit it and deal with the consequences.

That different life he led, imo, wasn't public knowledge to his closest friends, or at least his true friends. Looking back on it now, I have no issues believing what Steve Williams said when he claimed that he had no idea. A lot of people in his inner circle had no idea. Which brings up the second point - Tiger's inner circle wasn't nearly as big as some initially believed. And even those considered to be inside his circle were relationships maintained at a guarded, commercial existence; they were there to serve a purpose for his career more than anything else, which is why a lot of his alleged "close friends" were genuinely shocked to hear the reports coming out on the news about the scandal.

Then with what we learned via Hank Haney, about Tiger's obsession with Navy Seal training... about the weekends spent at the navy seal center in California, training with one of the teams... training with the Special Forces unit in NC, doing live-fire exercises... the skydiving, the deep-sea diver training with certified military trainers, his several-mile runs around his gated neighborhood with military rucksack on his back in combat boots, and all of those times Hank said that he would come by only to see Tiger playing military-action themed video games in his den. Do I think Hank made that stuff up? No way.

And that last revelation, imo, better describes Woods' obsession with high-risk activities when he felt bored, whether it was trying to win a golf tournament by 12 strokes, or seeing how many women he could bed, without getting caught, when he wasn't home with his wife and kids.

Don't misunderstand - these are not excuses. He acted like an ass on the course sometimes, acted like he was entitled and that the fans were little more than nuisances who distracted him while he was playing. He was a major league douchebag for destroying his marriage the way he did. And I do think that he resented getting caught and being humiliated more than he genuinely regretted the various occasions he was unfaithful to his wife.

Tiger has always had an enormous degree of narcism, which has probably morphed to a clinical level. Which, mind you, means that he isn't prone to admitting mistakes, and perhaps (but hopefully not!) means that if he is dealing with a prescription-drug dependency - it will be difficult for him to admit it and get help.

And that's why I think he might have more serious problems on his plate than his image now.

Mugshots never look good, but that mugshot (to me) spoke volumes about where his life is at the moment. With two little kids especially - I find it very sad.

Does anyone think he'll be appearing on TV screens in the next 72 hours to confess to an "alcohol addiction related issue". He can't even invoke "the lord" like Cink did (please correct me if I'm wrong but did he not go through very similar problems many years ago before being "saved"). Though I suppose he could convert, though exactly how a further lurch away from reality would help, I'm not sure,

As has been the norm since the days of FGI, the damn's come out in full force.
Yeah, "wow" what an outfit Eldrick is wearing in his mug shot - not that his apparel might have been confiscated. What do your pajamas look like?
We all know Eldrick so well - a monumental public figure, so tragic... I wonder how many of you know your best friends and spouses in their private moments. We know what the media has provided us.
That being the case, can we reserve judgment until we have more information?

Regarding the 'war games', it seems to me that a geeky little kid-prodigy, getting his public start on the Johnny Carson show, the son of a lieutenant colonel, might just want to prove that he's as tough as he thought his dad was. I'll reserve my more critical speculation for others after I've judged myself in kind.
