If I played golf like the guys in the white shirts play "pickleball", I would be taking dead-aim at every water hazard or out-of-bounds post in front of me. lol

I haven't played in years, but it's really fun! I'm going to have to take to building my own complex if I'm going to live here. I think the model should be a dog friendly pub with outside seating, a 4 court pickleball set up and a "traditional" sports bar inside. Ideally located next to a golf course, bowling alley and strip club... oh the riches I could have!
(2) 80 year olds could easily beat (2) 20 year olds. No handicap needed......... just practice, patience, reflexes and hand eye coordination
There seems to be a bunch of different skill levels based on a # system 2.0,2.5 etc.

You think 80 year olds can compete with 20 year olds in coordination and reflexes?
Absolutely. I have seen it more than once in Florida where the 20's think the 80's are over the hill. Don't forget the court is relatively small and when you control the net its game over. 20's try to smash the ball and 80's place the ball and frustrate the younger players
Maybe in doubles us old guys stand a chance, but I'm taking the 20 year old's legs to win in singles.
That's not reflexes and coordination, that's knowing how to play the game. Saying they can win on reflexes and coordination is like saying they can win at golf with their power. They can win, but not for those reasons.
When you stand just short of the kitchen and 1 of your opponents hits a smash right at you I suggest that you have good reflexes or wear protective eyegear
Oddly enough, the Pickleball US Open was on earlier on the CBS Sports channel (Directv)! Got quite the kick out of watching a dozen or so grannies in the stands dancing to Billy Ray Cyrus's Achey Breaky Heart during the intermission.
I don't reckon Pickleball is for me, but I feel confident in saying that I'd rather play it than watch it on tv.
