Very nice card indeed . Single digits knocking . Good driver, gir up, lots of one putts, only one 3 putt, no penalties, all equals to nice score and big smile?

Provisional and big smile?
Yeah. It'd be much bigger if I could get rid of those doubles and the 3 putt, but I'm happy with an 82.
The first double was just a bad call clubwise. Should have just punched something out toward the green (4i or Hypersteel), but figured I'd be able to knock an 8i down underneath the limbs. Caught the ball on the hanging branches and it bounced out in the fairway and backward a little.
The 2nd was a very bad swing with a 4i that I just got lucky when it did not go out of bounds.
The 3rd was created on the tee box with the worst drive of the day.
All in all, only a handful (or less) of really bad shots on the day. For the most part, I putted well. I was all around the hole with my first putts, too, on the ones I two putted.
It'll happen. Just gotta keep at it. I made a change on the range on Thursday. I widened my stance about a 1/2 width of my foot or maybe a full width. I think it has quieted my hips down and seems to be helping my tee shots. I'll give it some time, but I honestly think it's gonna be good.

Carrying range to course , difficult for me . Creature of habit too much or just hard headed. I tried going back to baseball grip and swing which was some better than last outing when I actually remembered to do it .
I pulled my drive short & left 15 yds & low off heel on #4 , 307 yd parr4. Left me 2end from rough ~ 140-150 to edge green over or around rt side of 80 ft pine. Visualized shot, Hit my #7 correct hight & little draw just around top part of tree to apron front of green . One of few happys for gawd awful 9 holes.
Shot that 82 today on a par 70 course that I'd never seen. Left some really long putts that resulted in some three putts. Loat one ball that led to a double. Hit a nice approach into same par 5... from 111 to <1'.
All in all, not too bad. I reached two par 5's in 2 strokes. One was kinda short, 484y, but way uphill for 2nd shot.

3 wood must be behaving too for birdies on parr 5s?
To play an unfamiliar track well is very indicative of your game improving.
Glad for you
70s report expected soon
Provisional 3wd didn't come out of the bag for either any of the par 5's. The first was driver, 4i and the 2nd was driver (316 into the wind after a couple cart path bounces) and then a 5wd (19Ā° Hypersteel) from 211. Left myself about 45' downhill for that 2nd one.
Good job, Jeremy. On Saturday I hit 6 of the greens on the front 9 but uncharacteristically had 2 three-putts. Back nine wasn't as nice to me, but I did end up hitting 10 greens and 10 fairways, which for me is pretty good.
Nice cool 82 partly cloudy day
Had my usual 11 over 9 hole Afternoon with couple of happys.
Iron strikes were improved. Played pw and sw from my Eye 2 + set with good accuracy. Thinking they'll stay a while. 2 & 3 holes parr 3s @ 170 , 130 yds respectively. Had good 28hybrid to apron on 2 and high 8 iron into head wind onto 3 green to 8' beyond flag. Good 5 wood lay up just short of pond on 9 love hitting that club
3 skipped ball over pond with bladed 8 iron shot of the day
Well, this thread is about 2 months old now so I think I'll revive it. Had as good a chance as I've had this year, probably, to break 80 today and couldn't come through.
Put up another 82. This time with 2 doubles and 8 bogies. I hit 10 GIR which is most likely a PR for this year, and quite possibly forever for me.

My putting let me down today. I had 38 of them with three 3 putts. I only got U&D once in 8 tries. The bright side of the round is that I didn't lose a single ball or have any penalty strokes.
When I opened it up it was on a July 21 post!
Right, being smart on putts too. Nothing I hate more than watching someone run a putt 10 feet past the cup and say, " at least I went for it.."
I stand there and say to myself, "Dummy".
Shot a +3 on a 9 hole par 3 course here today playing with my 13 year old. Was hitting it pretty well. Three putted one hole when I left it about 30' short because I hit my tee ball about a couple yards too short to stay on the top tier. Could've been better, but, all in all, not too bad.
I've said many times how much fun the pitch & putt courses are to me.
Knight's Play in Cary NC was great when I lived near it
27 holes well cared for considering very high play density and layed out v well too
Lights great for night time play especially in heat of summer
Fast to play too and great practice to sharpen approach shots and putts
If you had to hit a driver there was nice driving range
It was very inexpensive
Provisional unfortunately, this was only a three hole course. We simply played three different tees and played each hole 3 times.
Our horse pasture serves now for my pitching practice
Guess I could use my gps on the municipal course to make only approach shots and putts if I really wanted to simulate a pitch & putt for practice round and to hurry things up
Sr tees almost like that anyway
Shot a lackluster 90 today on a par 71 layout on a course I'd never seen before. Total yardage was just shy of 6600.
Front was horrendous. Shot a 48 after dropping 8 strokes on the first 3 holes courtesy of 2 penalty strokes (WH and L. The back nine came in at 42 which isn't awful, but could have definitely been better. Only hit 1 fairway on the day. Wind was howling... probably 20mph or so with gusts up to 30-35mph. I hit the opening drive about 300ish (on a 600+ yard par 5 with the wind behind me) and later, hit a drive 180 yards back into the same wind. Just brutal. Just 4 GIR and 35 putts means I just couldn't scramble today.
New course, windy day.....42 is a really good score in those conditions.
rsvman yeah, I'd have been fine with a 42/42, but that 48 on the front left a bad taste in my mouth. The first three really ate my lunch.
Shot a +2, 37 on the front nine with 7 pars and 2 bogies last Sunday. Alas, the 3 triples on the back (one because I let my putt hit the flagstick for a 2 stroke penalty) ruined the round. Only hit 2 fairways all day, 1 and 18. Most of the ones missed were relatively close and even the couple that were way out weren't hard to play since winter is almost here and the grass ain't exactly thick.
Just hoping to not lose much between now and April so I won't be starting from scratch next spring. I'm hoping to get in 2-3 round each month over the winter to preserve what I was able to gain this past 6 months or so.
