  • Need Trim Help For UST Mamiya ATTAS Shaft

A bud asked me to build him a Titleist 816H1 27° hybrid. He gave me the head, adapter and a UST Mamiya Attas International Series ISA1000 Graphite Shaft.370 Hybrid S flex. I can't find a thing on how to tip trim this shaft. I have never used one of the adapters. I figured out the alignment from a stock Titleist photo. So any help on how to tip trim this shaft for the 816H1 adapter would be appreciated.

I don't know where to find tipping info on that shaft but another thing too keep in mind is most adapters result in a larger BBGM. Assuming the objective is achieving the same profile as with recommended tipping for a glued head, you would likely need to trim extra to compensate for the BBGM difference.

Sneakylong Can't find that shaft on their website. All the ATTAS shafts say tip trim 1.5" for a 7 wood. No listing for a hybrid tip trim. The Irod says to tip trim up to 2" on the 5 hybrid. My guess would be you'd be in the ball park tipping 1.5" to 2". I would give them a call.

I think you are in the ball park. Looks like all UST hybrid shafts are pretty consistent in trim. I have an email in to UST. Thanks.

I was going to take BBGM into consideration. The adapter has a bore depth of just over 1.5" and BBGM is just under 1". Thanks for the tip.

Got an email from UST today. They recommended a tip trim for a 6 hybrid at 2". I think I will go with that and the standard 38.5" length which Titleist uses. Thanks dudes for the info.
