The basic Monofocal lens is usually covered. Premium lens upgrades are not. That was the $2k - $5k per eye cost. Most candidates select distance focus and then use readers. Depends on your wallet and priorities.

I'm home, watching TV. Have this plastic thang on my eye, so can't really tell the results. I was awaKe and conscious, in communication with the Dr. and speaking. Just felt a little buzzed when I got up. I was actually done, in about 15 minutes. Followup @ 8:45am.

Everything people here are saying about their surgery is different than what mine was.
Knocked out, but not deep like other surgeries, yet never felt a thing in the 1st eye.
Wear that plastic patch only at bedtime.
Eyesight was perfect before getting off the table!

Par4QC Yeah, I told Becky, I'm sketched. Through this plastic thing, I have the same SMEAR, I had before. I hope it's just tape and greasy finger prints.
They told me to leave it on until tomorrow's followup.

Par4QC Only 1 drop from me, day of surgery, 1st thing this morning. It comes off, in the morning. Then drops 3 times a day for weeks.

I just remembered something I did that made things easier. Keeping that plastic eye protector on with tape is a royal PITA. I took a piece or two of elastic bands from face masks left over from covid and made a strap to the cover to go around the back of my head. It worked great and so much better than the tape. Get well soon dude. 👍

3am - Something ain't right. Just a big fucking blur. Now, I'm worried. No, I haven't removed the plastic cover, yet, but something ain't right.

My wife just had me take the cover off...
I can't see shit out of the eye. It's a total fucking blur. 10x worse than before surgery. Light comes through, but can see shit, right in front of my nose.
These motherfuckers ain't touching my left eye!!! 😡😡😡

LBlack14 Good luck and keep the faith Brother. I had a nail go through my eye (21 yrs old) and lost all fluid with total collapse of the eye. Surgery, 7 stitches (2 remain, could not get them out). Was blind for some time in that eye, used many drops and protective shield for 6 months, looked like drooling drop eye. Now at 68, my eyesight actually improves each year. Two small cataracts that don't bother me yet but will not hesitate to get them removed.

You do have bad luck with the medical world, hope it passes soon.😎

LBlack14 It is 1 of the possible side effects of cataract surgery. Unless the lens slipped out of place, they will most likely tell you it will get better over time, up to 4-6 weeks. My left eye is still not 100%, a bit blurry, but they said I do have 20/20 vision overall. And I only notice it for seeing at close range. But had no problems hitting golf balls, as close as they are when swinging.

Becky and they, said I panicked. They said it's swollen and inflamed and normal? Now, 3 different drops, 1's a script. Say it should be cleared up by surgery, next Wednesday. They never TOLD me that was a possibility.
When you wake up and can't see shit out of 1 eye, what does anybody expect?? Especially after hearing nothing but success. Always something.
I'm that guy.

Par4QC I don't google or Bing everything on the planet. Some things are best not extensively researched as I've learned by looking, watching and listening to folks who do. Most are basket cases and google is full of fucking dog shit, on a lot of subjects and just plain bullshit and lies. I work with a guy who googles every fucking thing he possibly can. Talk about a text book, hypochondriac and basket case.

Typhoon They got an earful after the 2nd one, when I woke up before they were done. Hurt like holy hell and could feel every bit of it, towards the end. Gas man must have been running short that morning.

Google is scary because it’s people pretending to be doctors. I’d say not to Google it. When my youngest had cancer one of the first things the doctor said was to NOT look it up online.

You just panicked, gotta realize it was just done… need to give it a day. I think you’ll be fine, not gonna happen overnight.

You do have to know how to determine who is who, and what is what.
At least I'm capable of such. 😉
