Cool, but there are still low or no cost options that he may offer to enhance your surgery. No cost or harm asking.

Eguller They only gave me 3 options, insurance, +$2500 or +$5500 x2. I didn't know the x2 part, until you said something.
I just found out a few minutes ago that my surgery is in Middletown and not Mason. Their communication skills are lacking.

darpar WARNING:when they sedate you for the surgery make sure you are knocked out.😴
I wasn't do to a kink in the IV line, heard and saw everything during the surgery.
Not painful but pretty weird when all of a sudden in my right eye, I could only see a
small round dark hole for a few minutes.

I had both eyes done for cataracts about 3 years ago. I got a pill sedative before the surgery. I was awake the whole time since the doc communicates with you during the procedure.

Par4QC From my experience, I will go so far as to say you are not ready for cataract surgery....if they can prescribe corrective lenses for you.
My optometrist would not/could not. Only the surgery would help.

I put it off for years because my vision wasn't too bad. Finally I noticed a definite change in my vision. The doctor told me the longer I waited the more difficult the surgery is and longer recovery. Earlier they can make a very small incision and dissolve the lens and vacuum it out then poke a new lens in folded and unfold it. If you wait later in life they must make a much larger cut and remove the old lens in one piece.

When I had mine done they were done two weeks apart. The Dr. gave me some meds that didn't completely
put me out and he advised me it would be that way before we started. We talked a couple of times while he was
working on me. I didn't see a dark spot like someone mentioned but I did see a bright white spot when he removed
my lenses but that cleared up when he placed the new lens. I opted to see well far away rather than close up because
I wanted to be able to drive and play golf without glasses. I also didn't opt to do the laser type surgery because they
couldn't tell me I would see far away as well as with my choice of a new lens. I will wear reading glasses. I had mine
done by a Dr. named Vance Thompson in Sioux Falls, SD. I was told by another optometrist that Vance Thompson is
who patients in this part of the country are sent to when their Dr. doesn't do a good job or their surgery fails for
some reason. Right after the surgery my eyesight was tested and I was seeing 20/15. I've had no problems since. My
wife has had her eyes done at the same place since then and she also is well satisfied. She did have one eye done with the laser.

Now we wait. This has been the most unaccomidating, involved surgery I've ever had and I've had several.

I had gall bladder surgery, and was full of gangrene, they thought I was gonna die before.
I've had the cataract surgery in both eyes.
At no time prior to the gall bladder surgery did they ask me, if needed, can they give me blood.
They did ask before the cataract surgery.

So Yes..... it is quite involved when you think about what I just wrote.🤔👍

If it helps, everyone I've met that had cataract surgery swears it was a good experience and ar glad they had it.

None OF you mentioned this, I went earlier this year for eval and the Doc graded mine at 2 of 4. He said 1-4 is the system used and I may need the fix in few years. Did they grade your cataracts?

I'm home, watching TV. Have this plastic thang on my eye, so can't really tell the results. I was awaKe and conscious, in communication with the Dr. and speaking. Just felt a little buzzed when I got up. I was actually done, in about 15 minutes. Followup @ 8:45am.

The basic Monofocal lens is usually covered. Premium lens upgrades are not. That was the $2k - $5k per eye cost. Most candidates select distance focus and then use readers. Depends on your wallet and priorities.
