Checked locally, seems most people here and El Paso go across the border for cheaper cataract surgery. Roughly $1300-$2900, not much cheaper. I do cross the line for dental and have received great care cheaper--they don't take insurance. Not sure I trust my eyes there. Seems to be similar cost but I expect without insurance.
Dental is a strong business, many places will pick you up in the US and bring you back, making the crossing very easy.
