Several years ago I think it was 60 Minutes did a story on Chinese counterfeit golf clubs.
Cosmetically they were close to the eye. But when they cut into it is where you could see the difference. They cut into a real Titleist driver and a fake one.
Same is true with high end women’s handbags like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc.. The fakes may look similar to the untrained eye, but are not. Far from it.
The quality / craftsmanship just isn’t there. It’s true with many things. Clothing, sheets etc.. You buy a tee shirt with a high thread count and it will last way longer than a cheaper low thread count shirt. Same with a high thread count sheet.
A fake Rolex will keep time. But that’s the only similarity to the real one. lol Just some examples. Now maybe these fake L.A.B. Putters are close to the real deal or maybe not.
A guy putting on the practice green at Fox Hollow this week had a L.A.B. DF3. It was the real one. It had a white Accra shaft. He bought it at one of the local golf stores.
He went to buy a new Titleist driver, but the new one couldn’t beat his older one. So he got the L.A.B. putter instead. Said he liked it.
Said you still had to put a good stroke on it and aim it correctly. But he thought it was better than his current putter without the zero torque.
Not much new in clubs these days. They seemed to have maxed out technology wise. But the lie angle balanced zero torque putter is different.
