They were the OGs. Mark Crossfield (southern England) and Rick Shiels (Manchester) were two of the first. Rick started making videos to fill his coaching diary at Trafford Golf Center and it caught on. When he started, Peter Finch, Matt Fryer, and Andy Carter were also working there and have gone on to YT golf success. A Netflix documentary on those 4 guys starting out together and achieving various degrees of success (Rick is the biggest YT golf in terms of subscribers, Pete is a top 5, Matt's probably top 40, and Andy much less success but still at it) would be a great watch in my opinion.

I have all the tools to spec them out and will let you all know. There are also some guys at the club who have the real deal. May get one of them to hit the “fakes” to see if there is a difference.

Typhoon Well you should know that if they are not being sold by TM or any of their authorized dealers, they are not real. Unless they were bought though that system and being re-sold. And you know they were not bought through that system with the pricing.
So no, not authentic TM clubs at all. Not to say they were not made from the same molds/same foundry though.

I recall seeing SMT 455DB driver heads on Alibaba years ago. $50. No stamped lettering. Different color.

Always wondered about these fellas that are taking home all the 'defective' club heads and reselling as new/perfect. Or the foundries themselves doing such, after they do not pass QC for who they supply to.

Par4QC There are exceptions, but I could not tell you which products are knockoffs and which are authentic. But real brand products are sold in China at a much different and lower price point than they are in the west. Occasionally, someone will give access to Chinese pricing (with some markup I assume) and ship from China for product brands that are authentic. Just priced closer to what Chinese consumers pay than what westerners normally pay.

I somehow doubt Taylormade does however, their products are probably limited to high end retailers catering to corporate heads and government officials as I doubt even middle managers can afford to golf. But, as you suggested, it is possible that they role off of the same production lines using the same specs and materials.

Thing is, if it is coming from China.....iirc, TM has nothing made in China. Or assembled there.
This can be checked by looking at the labels on clubs in stores. I may check this out today.....and I just hate having to go to Golf Galaxy to verify my thoughts.🤣

Checking the internet, I find TM does have items made In China. But what I have been buying in the way of TM, has mainly been coming from VietNam and a couple other countries.

I'm still going to check it 1st hand at GG. I cannot be stopped now.😄
