Typhoon Check anything(cords/plugs ends) that is plugged into your electrical outlets, or anything electrical, in that room.

Just odd that it is concentrated in that 1 room. Otherwise I'm also remembering the drain issue you had repaired.

Par4QC Right, I was googling it and drain issues came up but none of the toilets, sinks or shower drains smell. It’s only that one room. Mold would be something you’d start to smell little by little. This was like Holy shit in your face smell. Landon’s joke about a chlorine tab somewhere is funny but seriously smells like that.

The smell seemed to be higher in the room than low by the floor. I check the attic and that was fine, no smell

Typhoon Sometimes a/c units will give out a chlorinelike smell. But it usually goes away quickly. I've had that because I rarely run mine.

If I were to ask an expert, I'd be asking at the Fire Dept.. 😉

And an ambulance. If you call 911, make sure you say no symptoms, that should avoid the ambulance. Response depends on what type of Fire Department you have and whether it's manned or an on-call department. Most will have at least a 4 or 5 gas meter for natural gas and CO calls. If you call the station direct that would be the best way to get a minimal response. Only a HazMat team would have chlorine specific detection equipment. All that being said, I can't really think of anything that would cause what you described. We see some really, really, REALLY weird stuff though. Like someone dumping an entire bag of pool shock into a bucket of water in the kitchen to mix it. Most times something like this is accidentally mixing a wrong combination of cleaners or other chemicals. If it continues I hope you get it figured out and taken care of.

P.S. I kinda miss our water bed from the 80's...

[deleted] I was thinking sulfur smell from the water source (chlorine), but did a search now and there is anti-sulfur reducing bacteria that can cause a rotten egg like smell due to rod in the heater failing.

I'd be more concern the smell is gone after being so strong.

Waterbed....I assume is vinyl.
Heated, I also assume. So it must be plugged in to an outlet.
Waterbed being 430 years old......cord must be same age.

Yeah, old waterbed , I might have changed out the heater, don’t remember. But anyway….

No smell today, went to the fire dept and they asked a million questions and it was none of them. They had no idea what to say…
