When we moved from the Central Valley of CA to Pinehurst, NC, we took 40 for a very large portion of it. We did it in 4 days with our cat, who was not happy, but was a trooper through it all.
First day was Manteca, CA to Flagstaff. Day 2 was to Elk City, OK, then Wildersville, TN (just short of Nashville) and the final day was the push to make it, which we did, to Pinehurst.
