What am I to gain by going to launch monitors, Swing speed radars, etc.?

The game of golf is all about the score, as seen on TV every week in the summer. Not how fast they swing. Not how far they hit a ball, or even WHERE they hit a ball. Score!!!
And every week over 1/2 of those that use those machines cannot score.
Must have bad machines.

scotts33 I bought a dozen. I'd say that review sums it up pretty good. It looks like a cheap shitty ball out of the box. It performs fine on most shots. Pretty good on full, partial, and chips/pitches .... for a 2 piece. I had no problem on full iron shots getting it to stop - nice. Driver it was mostly solid but into the wind it spins a smidge too much for my liking. That being said I am a low ball hitter historically steep/ish and know what to do/manage that. Swing easy and accept the result. One of the balls got significantly beat up by the grooves.....not sure which club but I suspect my SW did this, the cover was cut badly. No other club effected the cover, pretty much mark free. I will monitor this to see which club was the culprit. Feel, it was not mushy nor firm, but a decent feel for me, I'd suspect 70's compression. Not quite Pinnacle Gold but not too far off. The feel off the putter was a plasticy thud. Not the best but it was no deal breaker. Overall I liked this ball. It's only 18 holes but the only performance piece I didn't like was in to the wind.drives. all else was solid or better. Can we make this the official Buzz 2 pc ball🙃

76...hands of stone..play Boost, Pinnacle Soft, and Seed SD 15(Country Mile)..shot 81 last week and low round this year was 74 in Florida, 12* driver ladies flex, and oh yeah NO ego in my game!! Last, fitting is overrated since me along with most everybody rarely swings the same way twice in a row not to mention most fitters have no clue what they are doing. As a friend of mine in Florida who did play on tour told me...fitting lasts about 1 week and then you still probably have the same swing. By the way GBA(Nick) is a friend of mine

Par4QC I will generally shoot with 2 strokes no matter what I take out, as far as clubs and balls.

Same here. I'm not convinced that not knowing all my specific stats is robbing me of any significant improvement. Optimized equipment fitting probably has it's advantages, bur having played vintage/original 100 year-old hickory sticks and basically shooting the same range of scores taught me a lot.

Par4QC Don't get hung up on numbers.....esp. when they (in reality as I've shown) mean little.... to a lot.

There's a entire industry out there selling club fitting and the mantra is consistent. All of my buddies who have (and still are) spending THOUSANDS on fitting-and-then buying are still shooting the same scores. THAT'S a waste of money as bad as any club Ho-ing.

There is a whole science behind the 2,3,4 and 5 piece ball. Problem is 99% of the golfing population sucks so its like “whatever”. Some people will buy based on the data, and even though it works, they might still shoot 125. They’ll just be 10 feet closer to the hole when they 8 putt.

Occasionally, when I realize there is a water hazard or riverbed on one side, I'll pull out a red ball, or for a provisional with friends. Otherwise is a white ball with blue dots i put on with a marker.

Walterjn if I find a colored ball I either give to someone I’m playing with, toss it in the pond or I’ll hit hit deep into the woods where nobody will find it.

Started golfing a few years after the orange balls hit the scene in the 80s and occasionally played them. Stuck with white most of the time and despised the yellow balls for no good reason. Now I still mostly play white, but have an assortment of colors in the Zero Friction Spectra golf ball that I'm playing through. I'm fine with any color except blue - they disappear in the grass and Spuzz says they'll make your testicles shrink.

johnnydoom blue, purple, black, gold, and silver all see to disappear fairly easily.
The callaway matte finish balls seem to glow when the sun hits them right. Like when the sun is behind you, or just overhead shining the way your playing. Otherwise, good luck finding them.

I got some of those last year after trying a couple at a local course. Shocked as to how far they went. They had the red and I was having cataract problems. Not sure they helped much though, but they were the red with black lettering, and number 22 on them. 😉😆

No, we are purists. Like I only like solid black ferrules on my irons. Not those fruity ass multicolored striped ones. Makes the clubs look like clown props toys buy at Walmart
