I don’t think Manzella has taught the Golfing Machine stuff in many, many years. For me the biggest difference between good golfers and high functioning hackers is a consistent low point.
That’s the whole ball of wax right there. Nicklaus felt he released right from the start of his downswing. You have Dan Alton teaching to release (fold) well before impact. But combined with a pivot it doesn’t look like it’s early.
It all depends if you twist release or right palm up throw release as well. Moe Norman had his vertical drop / horizontal tug. Which had his left arm internally rotated and his right arm externally rotated / elbow tucked in with the palm more up. Many ways and feels to get there.
There’s good golfers who are pickers and good golfers who are diggers. Whatever works best for you.
