😄I see this every time I play with Jake. And it is not just with the driver. He hits irons that would make Bryson cry Uncle!
And, he's got the scores down quite a bit, a lot of 70's rounds now. I got to 'be on' my game to beat him now.
I will still tag along to watch him when/if it ever comes that I cannot play any longer.

You cannot "fit" someone out of that.

I don't know, if he's playing way too soft a shaft that could certainly cause problems.

It wasn't the length that got him, he did hit it 300plus. He lost all his strokes around the green. He literally missed 7-10 one to two footers. I swear he missed a 6incher. Everything was way too hard.

Typhoon You are 💯 right. I’m lucky enough to get out to Bethpage Black a bunch of times a year and I constantly see people playing from the posts, which are behind the blue tees where the pros will hit from, yet can barely reach the fairway. Doesn’t seem like much fun.

If you were to turn on the hose, pick it up about 45" from the nozzle that is pushing water out of it and started swinging it around over your head like a crazed cowboy.... would the "flex" of the hose be an issue?

garyt1957 It’s good to be young. My son is 22, college hockey player. Very rarely plays golf but has a really good iron swing and chipping stroke. His driver swing is AWFUL. It is an uncontrolled violent mess. He would be great in long drive where all you need is 1 in 6, but on a course it’s awful. 300 straight. 325 into the trees. He’s broken 2 shafts between his hands due to his transition. I keep trying to get him to swing his driver like his irons. I took him and 2 of his cousins to play last fall. I walked because it was easier than riding the with them as the 3 of them go from side to side. After the round, all they talked about were their 300-325 yard drives. Not the 100 score or 10 balls each of them lost 🤷‍♂️

Some dumbasses are content with bombing it and could care less about the rest. I'd ask him why not just go to the driving range for an hour and show off. Definitely gets some fan fare🙃

I got paired with brothers who play on mini tours in Asia. Both hit their drives over 300 yards and they were clinical around the greens. It was an education.

Played with a skinny kid from one of the local high school golf teams about 3 years ago. He only hit his driver twice during the round because he was struggling with direction and we were playing a relatively short course with houses lining the fairways. The two drivers he hit went 325 and 345. He used his 2 iron on all other par 4/5 holes and averaged closed to 275 with it.

Walterjn I think it's pretty obvious that he likes to hit the long ball and doesn't care about score or putting.
