From the link that raggmann54 posted above. And imo, this is what we are talking about here........
There really is a ball out there that can help you with almost any part of your game and it takes time to find out what is best for you. Do some research and speak to other golfers to find out their opinions.
Try different balls on the course and when you find one you like, stick to it so you can learn how it plays in different settings.
Rex has done this over the years.....I'm betting Rory has not. He plays what is free.š¤£
But, I do see what John is trying to point out, and it is a good point. The multi-layer balls can help in ways we probably do not realize, because we won't/haven't spent the money to try most of them.
From the article, I take this away.....even though the balls have multiple layers, you may not use all of them due to your SS. But the ones you can/do use can be extra useful for certain parts of our game. The more layers compressed help those that can compress them, in the areas they need help. A simple 3 pc. ball can give more distance to slower swingers...less spin off the driver. This I have personally found out. Plus, if they can give an extra 10 yds., most here can use that. Not sure they will pay for it though.
I have some TP5 balls (5 pc.š²)coming Monday. For the next few rounds I'll use them, but will also take along my best choice of a 2 pc. ball. I'll compare on course, when it's not so busy......tee, FW, chipping, putting.
This OP came at a strange(weird) time.....I was going to do this anyway. John is spooky like that, I guess.
