Discuss 2 Piece vs 4&5 Piece Balls ( other than price)

Love to hear you guys discuss the playability differences and how it relates to the 75-80 mph driver swing and the 50 mph 7 iron swing.

Spuzz 3 piece urethane balls have always been what's best for me overall, including price vs. performance.
I started with 2 piece but soon tired of hitting it close to the green off the tee and then watching a wedge shot run out. Might be the most frustrated I have ever been on the course.
I found 4 piece balls to perform great but the price difference did not warrant a change.
Wilson Tx3 vs. Wilson Tx4 for example.
My first reaction to 5 piece balls was WTF are they doing now? LOL

I find most of those studies to be like golf tips. If you keep reading them, they start to contradict themselves

Those studies......if done by machine, only shows what a perfect strike will perform like. And when done by people on such places as MGS, you only get asskisser info.

I don't think I have the brain power to recall the last perfect strike I made on a golf ball.

I play whatever I pick up on the course. 😁

The only balls I tend to purchase are Cally SuperSoft $22/doz. as I don't want to crack my persimmon heads with high compression golf balls. If I could find new reasonably priced balata balls I'd play them with persimmon and blades. That's what I learned with and played as a youth in general.

Don't know if they still make them but Maxfli Tour had a 6 piece ball for awhile.

That’s the problem…. The layers help slower speeds but you don’t want to know that. And yes, Jake can hit the 3.4 and 5 piece ball as far as a 2 piece… duh. That’s in what you should read. It’s common knowledge these days. Those multi layered balls aren’t shorter.

But that's my issue/results. They are shorter off my driver/swing. I must be doing it wrong.

I have probably the same 6 balls in my golf bag for a couple months. I might lose one every so often but I can go weeks with the same balls. They get scuffed up, my friends give me shit because the balls look awful.

Correct. I already know the most lost ball is the ProV1.

Because most people that use them should not be.

Par4QC This is true. I know the 2 or 3 best places to find prov1s on the course that I play the most. They are always like new. I then scuff them up nicely and retire them.
