Weirfan My brother would NEVER say no gifts. He’s like that🙄and beyond cheap. My wife always says when my parents die he’ll be on the phone the next day looking for his money.

For the record, if it was my brother and I had to go more than 4 hrs. away, I'd not be going. And if needed to fly......F that BS!!

Par4QC I figure, that the 1st wedding my presence is required. After that, my brothers are on their own. Nieces and nephews, well, I'll meet them around some point. Funerals, I'll burn that bridge when I get there.

Going to Ireland this summer for golf (5 rounds in 6 days). Might go somewhere else this year if finances and circumstances allow it - although not necessarily for golf. I don't think that I will ever be tired of seeing the rest of world, and I'm very thankful that in my retirement I might still have the opportunity to do so. Apparently you only live once, so you might as well take the opportunity to make the most of it!

These days I hate going to work. The guy that works adjacent to me (different position) is out on his 2nd medical leave in 2 years. The first one was over a month....so far he's been out 2 weeks. I'm waiting for management to push his job on me.
About 4-5 months ago it was decided that to split his job into 2 people and the already had someone picked to train, but it never happened so they don't have someone to help back up his position. It seems that you 1) either get hired arriving from another country and there are few expectations or 2) you have everything but the kitchen sink tossed at you and if you say anything you have a bad attitude.

I enjoy being home. Used to run all the time. I enjoyed going to Payton's games, but hotels were hell, since I can't sleep in a bed. I enjoyed the Mrs and my trip to 'ichigan last summer, for a couple days, but no sleep. Hell, I been up most of the night, tonight, sick. Just told work I'm a no-go.

My wife and I are homebodies. We much prefer to stay home than travel. Fortunately, if we do go on vacation its pretty much one time a year. We are going to drive to Buffalo for a niece's wedding this June, but not being invited to go to any other weddings is fine with us.
