Family decided she will be dubbed, "Nilla" (woofer).

"Vaccine" was 2nd runner up.

Thanks to @sdandrea1 for the reply. I figured one reply or none. Never underestimate the snark factor.

Nilla is resting comfortably while the family is off at Costco. I get to make sure chaos doesn't ensue while they're gone.

And, I made my wife bring a little insulated cooler to sneak me home a very berry sundae (if they aren't out of Nilla yogurt again).

Yipsy changed the title to Our rescue hoosky mix has been named .

I preferred Nilla and was going to post it, but then you had other reasons for the other name... So I decided to withhold my vote.

But I think you made the better choice.

I appreciate it. Nostalgia is hard to beat but when mama don't like it it's doomed to fail. She was the one obsessed with getting this dog so it feels like her dog not the kids.

Nilla is a lot better. My daughter wanted nostalgia but her friends told her Nilla was better. She came around due to that peer pressure thing.

Nilla Nice is a nice nice baby.

Thanks, Rick. I think she's trans. She's stronger than the male husky we have. She's built like a tank. I thought maybe part pitbull given the muscle tone. Makes the male husky look like a wimp and he's afraid of her.

Just saw thisā€¦ love Nilla!! Good choice! Good luck with her in her ā€œforever homeā€.

Makes me wish we had a dog again. Then I get to thinking what would we do with the dog when we leave for
a day or two at the last minute? I guess it's better that we don't have a dog but I know you'll enjoy Nilla, she
looks like a real sweet one.

mulegolf got any friends with dogs? Or maybe stop by a dog park and see about scratching dogs for a bit. Maybe volunteer at a humane society and walk/ play with dogs.

Great ideas. Thereā€™s a no kill shelter by me thatā€™s always looking for people to help walk dogs.

          Yipsy

Thatā€™s the point! šŸ˜‚ we have two rescues at home. Theyā€™re getting up in the years and when they pass on, it will be two more rescues.

Yipsy only the humane society... I have more than a few people around me that have dogs. Those people are more than happy to let me spend 40 minutes scratching their dogs. Dog is happy they're getting attention, the people are happy because I'm helping she'd out the dog. I'm happy because I get to scratch a dog.
The BEST dogs are O.P. Other People's!! I get to scratch them, and not worry about feeding, cleaning up after them, vet bills.

colej there's one by me, and I avoid the place only because I would find one that bonds with me and nobody else, and I'm not in a place to give a dog the best life.
I don't think it would be fair to the dog to be on the road for 12+ hours and stuck in the truck that long.

We live in a very small town (just less than 2000) and there is no humane society or dog park. I don't know how far I'd have to drive to find one either, other than Sioux Falls, SD but that's an hour and a half away from me. The neighbors used to have a dog that would come over and see me from time to time but he died and the neighbors moved away. My son has a pit bull mix dog but he doesn't seem to like me and I leave him alone.
