Just curious - how could it be because they are not popular enough? lol

We can't keep them in stock. We didn't anticipate how popular the 4's would be even as an obvious complement to the irons, but the biggest underestimation was how popular they are in the high lofts. We are out of a few of the numbers until May.

You mentioned the cost of the Pinhawks in the other thread - I'm assuming you are referring to the retail cost? Our cost to distributors is very aggressive and so is the cost that Hireko is passing on to Chairman club members.

What I meant by "because they aren't popular enough" is that if you weren't getting the sales you had anticipated, the out-of-stock items may have been a result of you simply selling out your existing stock and not refilling the order with your manufacturer. I'm glad to hear that they are working out.

As I say, I think they have real potential. I want to specialize in SL and anything that makes the game easier. I think that hybrid iron sets fit solidly into this target market and SL hybrid sets particularly so. That's why I was asking about people's experience. It is also why I'm glad to hear that they are going well for you and they are not "going away."

I'll have to look into that Chairman club membership. 🙂

    Single length is basically an equipment frenzy right now - that I haven't seen in my 20 years in this industry. If we are out of stock of anything SL it's because of the popularity. I don't anticipate it dying anytime soon, and even if it did, we would still specialize in it with regard to the Pinhawk brand. It was born in 2010 when not many cared about single length, and it will survive long after the frenzy dies down.

    Our single length fairways just now hit the mainland and we look forward to that release within the next couple of weeks. Early testing has been excellent and folks are going to love them.

        I really wasn't very clear about what this thread was about and I wish I could change the title of it 🙁

        I wasn't really talking about the hybrids (as in the 4- and 5-hybrids) as much as I wanted to know what the response has been to the hybrid SET, and whether anyone has played them.

        Has anyone played the SL hybrid 6-SW? Like I say, I think these have some real potential for a certain set of golfers.

          I think Aaron did (sort of) answer your question about the high loft hybrids but not about the set as a whole.

              I'm going to hold off until they are in hand. One thing I've learned from this is that when I leak something early sometimes the idea gets copied (it's happened twice now). I know it's the business and it doesn't bother me too much, but after this project we are not even going to announce what's coming down the pipeline anymore.

                  My buddy picked up the Integra I-win 5-AW and was wondering what to do for a longer club and I see the Pinhawk 4 hybrid... Do you think it would be a good match to fit one of these into his set?

                      This is really interesting, kind of hard to wrap your head around a short FW. Could be a game changer.
