It's way down the list and plays virtually no role in performance. I can think of two clubs I played where the sound/feel was so bad I thought twice about hitting it again. NIke Sumoยฒ and an Impex driving iron. The rest range from feeling good to OK. I am putting a goo filled forged ts1-im 8i to the test...10+ rounds and when I hit the 9 or 7i of the 431 STi2 it feels different, but does not make or break what happens in the swing. I think most who have played the 1-IM would say it feels great, but it's not noteworthy to me. It .makes me wonder how much we've learned over time to think one thing or another or read in WRX how great something is would influence thoughts. Both perform very well, that's what matters. Another example is the Modus shafts, supposedly the best feeling steel shafts there are, I smh at it as yes they are solid but not much different then the other steel offerings I played.....and i am in the 1150 Tour......the Modus somehow feel better then those....nahhhhh! DG Spinner wedge shaft and DG s300 8i in other wedges, they are nearly identical! What's important and critical is the feedback I get from the ball flight....high, low, curve and the difference between that floaty flight and the piercing flight yet on the same trajectory, and the ability to understand where I've missed on the face on EVERY shot, no matter what. ๐That's the FEEL that is important, as well as nutting it and pulling off the intended shot! I get it from forged, cast, multi-material, maraging, carbon, stainless. I mean we are all playing trash cans for drivers. Cannot remember the last driver I played that I thought looked good, maybe the db455๐ค. I don't believe that these bulbous multi material heads are what folks think look good๐ค. They do inspire confidence however to swing away/bomb with impunity. What pitch happens next is mostly irrelevant. I know I'm an outlier but I will not sway on this topic. Give me something that performs and I will be confident and I will play that way!๐๐๐-feel๐
