Well, I guess it's really expensive to "grow the game"...Anyone who plans to spend $750 to go watch 1 day of the Ryder Cup and doesn't even get a beer has to be really stupid...Are we going to have to listen to the players whine about not getting paid and then have to listen to Monahan drone on about how expensive it is to put on "the show" and bitch that LIV is ruining the game with money???

I live 10 minutes from the course. A few of the guys I play with were accepted as volunteers. Seems like a heck of a deal they got now.

So much bullshit splatter.

They forgot that the event is open to nationwide/worldwide ticket sales. Not just the 'rich' New Yawkers.

I might also ask......it says the players get a 'donation' of 200K to charities in their name, no payments in hand. But are there not bonus clauses within the PGA when making the RC team??? Seems likely to me that there would be.

Weirfan Love the reason of the checkout price. I always liked the receipt from renting cars at DFW. Two-thirds of the total was crap fees, especially the daily $4 fee for "complimentary" bus ride to the rental car location and airport. $2 fee for the Cowboys stadium.

Now, the PGA seems to claim the additional fees are roughly $500 daily. New York is not cheap😎

Augusta basically shuts down , they close the schools and people head out of town, rent out their places. 1-2 star " have a nap" Inns that typically go for $60-$70 a nite are priced at $300. The two times I went we had to book 6-8 months out and even then people reserve rooms earlier and re sell them. We talked to a couple fellows who through one of the online home rental agencies, rented a
" rustic" trailer in the backyard of someones house. That year ( 2017) there were huge storms and tornados and they said they didn't hardly sleep in this tin can that was surrounded by hundreds of year old trees

I never did this, but when I lived near Washington DC, people rented out their houses for up to $10,000/week during Inauguration week.

Imagine the local airports make serious money parking the jets.

sdandrea1 I'd have to re-read the article, but I thought I saw something about 'all inclusive' for those ticket prices. So yeah, with the prices they have for food/drinks normally, it would be a bargain. If really hungry.

Right...Those $25 Nathan's dogs and $50 PBR beers are going to give your heartburn...The "explanation" for these prices show just out of touch with normal, middle America these "elites" at the PGA and USGA really are. There was so much bullsh!t coming off the screen reading that article that for a minute I thought I was on a cattle ranch in Texas and was looking for my hip waders...

somehow doubt this is the case, but it did say for food and non alcoholic drinks......further noted how fans tended to grab what they needed vs stocking up....can't remember if that was due to having more stands available or due to the all inclusive nature leading to less lines. Not a fan of all inclusive for things like this as I'm not there for the food.....yeah I got to eat but damn I'm not there for wagyu beef. All inclusive for sports means very high price.

I believe it is inclusive of taxes, service fees and includes all food and non alcoholic beverages.

So lets say for simplicity sake that the tickets were selling at $500, which isn't unreasonable .
NY state tax and ticket service fees would add ~ 100. So they are tacking on another $150 for food and beverage. I don't think I would eat $150 worth of food and non alcoholic bevies but if one stays for 8 hours ( Hobbit and I spent 10 hours on the grounds of Augusta) then probably eating 3x so it might work out.

Rather have the choice to buy what I want , when i want but....
