I remember seeing a video with Steve Elkington several years ago. He was playing golf with an amateur. Think it was a woman.

Anyway, the thing he kept saying was don’t get caught up with the number on the bottom of the club. Look at the club as a tool.

Pick the right ‘tool’ for the shot in front of you. Loft jacking is a non issue if you think of it that way.

Typhoon What hap happened is we have added shorter length, more accurate irons to the bag. Yet people are still terrible.

Loft-jacking doesn't fix your swing.
If you have a solid swing, you don't need jacked lofts
Ergo, loft-jacking is dumb.

This says it all. ^^^^^ For some reason many disregard the above and think the club manufacturers are just bending the lofts stronger without considering the above.

Woods 1,5,7
Irons: 4,5,6,7,8,9,PW, AW,SW,LW and putter

My set is:
Woods : driver, thriver, 5 ,7 ;but the headcovers on them say #1, #2, #3, #4;
Irons #5, #6, #7,...

I'm so psychorigid that with jacked lofts I would feel the need to put headcovers on them as well with the 'right number'.

When I fit somebody if funny how all they care about is how far the ball went, not how much more accurate they were. Most times I give up… “yeah, great… you need to buy it🙄”

I don’t remember people complaining about “loft up” for driver….

sdandrea1 exactly. I trust Golfworks as it relates cg as they publish ACTUAL data on ALL of their designs, as well as other manufacturers who provide them the sticks to test. OEM's can say these clubs have lower cg/vcog, but show me the data that supports it. What do we get from them, mostly marketing! Who was it that went on a 17/1700 campaign🤔....🤮

I remember so many guys refusing to loft up no matter if a 12* driver gave them +20 yards. "I've always used 9.5*!". They weren't going to use an "R" flex shaft either.....playing in jeans and a t-shirt was ok though because they weren't totally purists about the game's traditions 🤣

Are they different between forged and cast? I sometimes go back and forth between the two and need to know.🤔

Typhoon wasn't somebody marketing a mouthpiece that made you swing better? I think it was Under Armour. I think you could also swing with your mouth open
