Not so much pondering as shell shocked by current prices. My wife wanted to run into a few stores so I went into the PGA Superstore in the same lot. I haven't kept up on current equipment at all, I always either buy 3-4 year old used or build my own.
So I'm looking at hybrids and they are $350!! And it wasn't one brand, it was several. Drivers are now $699? And I found a nice putter I really liked till I looked at the price tag..$599! Who is buying this stuff?
Looked at clothes. Callaway shirts for $84. I just left Sam's Club and they had Callaway shirts for $21. Callaway pants were $100. Sam's had nice Greg Norman pants for $19. Saw a 50% off rack, ugly shirts for $43. I've never paid $43 for a golf shirt.
Glad to be back in the land of $12 shipped.

I have no clue as to how to strut.
I wear $10 shirts.👍

garyt1957 Gary….when it comes to golf people will sell their kids for a new driver. It’s nuts. Most people aren’t good enough to be buying new equipment. Maybe they are rich…. Who knows but if they had half a brain nobody would buy brand new clubs.

That really clicked for me when I started playing hickory golf events and watched guys shooting in the 70s with 100 year old clubs.

Eguller I never buy 'golf' shirts. I only buy shirts I can play golf while wearing. And if a shirt wears out, it is either 'reclaimed' as cut up pieces for golf assemblies, or they are tossed.
I hate buying clothing. Esp. shirts.

Par4QC I have soooo many unopened golf shirts from outings, pro shop credits and previous jobs that I should sell them. Every year I get 5-6 new TM shirts…

If I were to buy a shirt I’d go to TJ Maxx or Marshall’s and not pay over $15.

I have about 35 golf shirts in all colours. I only have a few of them that were bought new , and only at a deep discount. The rest are thrifted. Can I afford to buy new at Golftown? Yes, but why the fuck would I??

candukid I have a rack that size for all my shirts, pants and outerwear. In the summer I swap my shirts over from the winter ones but my only rack for everything is what you have for shirts

I don't even know how many golf shirts I have. I know I had way too many 6-7 years ago so I cleaned out the closet and donated several dozen, but still had a ton. Every time I get a new shirt from the club I get rid of 2-3 old ones, but I swear they are multiplying like Tribbles.
