darpar And Chiles is already back home. With the medal.

And lest we forget...it is a racist thing. So I've read from Chiles' family posts.

Par4QC You know damn well we could never compete.
Airlines would lose our equipment. Or break it.

Isn't that just an opportunity to acquire more? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Stu1961 Lose breaking, but get to look forward to flag football in 2028. Then, maybe, ultimate frisbee in 2032, checkers in 2036, and knitting in 2040?

Surely pickleball is going to be there.

No disrespect to the competitors but I just cant get my head around breakdancing as an Olympic Sport. Thankfully just a one off

Yipsy Real bronze acquires a patina. It can be left as is or it can be polished. But bronze is gonna be bronze, and bronze develops a patina; in other words, it oxidizes.

I guess we now know why Tom Cruise was at the Olympics.....
He had to pick something up!

Yipsy Their value goes way beyond those figures.
Even that $5 bronze can fetch winners upwards of 100's of 1000's. Depends on the country.

(it would have to be really heavy to be worth $5 in scrap, btw)

Yipsy why people try stealing copper. Not much value.

That's being uninformed. Copper only this week went under $4; it had been over $5. That is per avoirdupois pound, not troy ounces as gold & silver are bought/sold.

I have sold several 1000's pounds of copper. When it was only $2, and felt like I was rich. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Matter of fact, the car I drive today was bought with 'copper' cash.

    Yipsy Not much value.

Probably one of the most valuable scrap metals there is today.
Electricians get ripped off by thieves for copper wire all the time.$$$

darpar The electrician that rewired our hotel always takes the scraps home. His 2 car garage was so full he had to park his $86K truck outside.....that he bought with scrap money. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Lol, let's try and stay on track/course๐Ÿ™ƒ....some really good USA vs. France matches for gold in men's and women's bball and women's soccer. USA bringing home the gold in all 3. The soccer was not at all expected going in. This coach has them playing really good!

Edit ... USA beat Brazil in soccer ๐Ÿ˜†

I can't help but laugh at a lot of the Olympic click bait in my YouTube feed. I guess because I've watched a few videos about Caitlin Clark, I'm now getting all sorts of videos about how team USA basketball (both women and men) didn't perform up to expectations. I guess winning gold isn't enough anymore?

There were some really nice moments the time around, but the Paris Olympics had a few black eyes. I think we can do better. I hope we can do better.

I did really enjoy the final rounds on the golf competition especially Lydia Ko. Yes, not an American, but a great competitor.

Rickochet Surely pickleball is going to be there.

The earliest would be 2032 as several โ€œthingsโ€ have to be done (which canโ€™t be done in three plus years?). The biggest sticking point is that the International Olympic Committee must first recognize it as a sport. According to the Olympic charter, it must be widely practiced by men in at least 75 countries and on four continents and by women in no fewer than 40 countries and on three continents.
Given some of the currently included events, โ€œsportโ€ and โ€œwidelyโ€ must have generously broad definitions ๐Ÿ˜‚

Stu1961 must first recognize it as a sport.

๐Ÿ™„. There must be a very broad definition in place.

Rickochet Man, you can almost smell the sea.

Your comment put an immediate smile on my face - I do concur!

Par4QC I'm thinking about how PapaD came up with the Gold-Silver. Age or beauty? However, can be many sub-categories. PapaD was competitive when he had two Ho-ing homes of stuff, now 1.

          Bravopilot

Rex and I are about the same age I think. I'm more "out of the closet" with my ho-ing, so I can't be sure if he's Gold or Silver. I'm just thinking we'd sweep the top 2 spots. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†
