I picked up a Ping G driver on ebay recently and might want to tinker with some shafts. I have never tinkered with a Ping adapter. I would like to pick up an extra adapter or two and try some different shafts. Does this require any additional tip trimming? Also, once this sucker is glue it is it there good good or can it be removed with a shaft puller?

Final question, does anyone know if the .335 adapter for a Ping G 30 will fit the G?

Rickochet changed the title to Ping Driver Shaft Adapter Questions .

Rickochet none of the adapters require additional trimming. Pulling those are no different than any others. Shaft size doesn't matter, the adapters fit the same.

The G30 and G adapters are interchangeable. Similar to the Cobra Bio Cell, F6 and F7 adapters are interchangeable.
I have a G30 and had a G for a short time. I have a UST Mamiya VTS shaft and it's .335 and the G30 adapter fits that fine. For awhile Ping used .350, but I believe they now use .335 stock shafts. That's been my experience anyway.

rynobucket I have two extra adapters to sell you if interested, OEM pulls.

Might have some interest, but they are going for $9 new shipped on ebay.

LBlack14 Rick, I think John (Typhoon) had some extras too.

Thanks Landon. I am seeing them on ebay for about $9 shipped.

Yeah, someone on here bought mine. They are dirt cheap on eBay as u can see and usually free shipping. I got the 3 I had on eBay and they couldn't be told from the OEM one.

They are all aluminum too so you don't have to worry about the ferrules melting.

When I pulled them, used a regular puller, just put a screw and fat washer on the end to pull against.

Good news, thanks for the info. I have a JB hydraulic puller.

Point of clarification.....by "no additional tip trimming needed" you mean in the case of the driver....right?
I'm about to install an adaptor on a shaft that will go into a 5 wood. I assume that I should tip trim the shaft to make it the proper 5 wood flex before installing the adaptor.....correct?

No problem, I can't speak for the Ping adapters on the bay, but I know some other adapters fall under the category of 'you get what you pay for'. I have a few TM adapters that the markings are significantly off (STD loft is actually +/- .5*)
