Ben Hogan told Gary Player that it was impossible to swing too flat. For me it seems it’s impossible to swing too much under. The Pros call it getting stuck if you’re too much under. Most golfers wish they had that problem.
Tom Saguto calls it getting your hands low. I was doing it for awhile and then saw his video. I just googled swinging under. All he did was validate what I was doing:
Most hackers swing over, when we really want to swing under. Swinging too over is a high handicap problem. Swinging too under is a low handicap problem.
I don’t use a stick like he does. Again, I’m lucky I can just feel it. I like that he gets his hands in the middle of his bicep in his backswing as well. Most golfers think you need to loop it like Jim Furyk to swing under. Not the case. Think Matt Kuchar.
