I've actually done this to some degree. Rockbottom golf had some wedge shafts on clearance for a few bucks each several years ago, and I just hardstepped them into a couple of single length hybrids. As an added bonus, I think I didn't even need to extend them as the raw length matched up with the 8 iron length I was using for the hybrids

      I can see how it could work fine if the length of the clubs you're using them for is short enough.

        I need a couple .355t shafts for a couple Mizzy wedge heads. Don't give a rat's ass if they say wedge on them or not. Too much wasted thought/energy.

        I had several of the TT Collegiate shafts that have been put to good use thru the years. Just shafted a PW and GW of the Maltby TE+ with them, to celebrate my University of Michigan National Championship!! I wish they still made them

        Wedge specific shafts should always be used, it's why and what they were designed for.
        What could be any other reasoning????

                I remember Callaway's "Uniflex". I once asked a store owner what flex Uniflex was close to and he said "well, it's kinda between.......fuck, I don't know".

                          Some of them, supposedly, give a little more spin, like 300-600 RPM. I had gotten one of the XCaliber ones cheap when Maltby was blowing them out years ago. I put it in a lob wedge. I rarely hit full shots with it, so I don't notice a difference. The new Rapid Taper wedge shafts claim a 2000 RPM spin increase over steel wedge shafts.

                            They’re talking comparing different materials and shafts. Take the Rapid taper from the set, maybe go down a flex, maybe not and then do the comparison to the wedge specific shaft.

                              I tried a couple of the Apollo hump shafts in a pair of wishon wedge heads on my last round of last year. The faces of the wedges had so many micro grooves that you could probably grind corns off with them. I didn't notice anything breathtaking with either. Not bad just not remarkable.

                              I always thought some could make a difference. The Wishon Hi-Flight was magic around the greens although useless with a fuller swing. Of course it seemed to be just a Dynalite shaft that was untipped.

                              The old DG Spinner did seem to give me more spin on full shots and I rarely spin ball.....except when I land it just short of the hole and spin it back 10-15 ft 😡

                              I have heavy 125-130g Accra shafts in my wedges now. No different, but I love the heft and shock dampening.
