LBlack14 I do wish that was the reason the press isn't focused on the perps.

Sneakylong Yeah, we have more guns than people. But the issue is that nothing will ever change unless the public finally has had enough and demands change.
Somebody tell me, when is the last, most recent time that the citizens of this country united and pushed a significant referendum - of any sort?!
johnnydoom Apparently the shooting was just crime as usual in Kansas City. No mugshots, no press waiting outside suspect’s house to ask relatives what kind of monsters they raised
Question: Are you aware that the 3 suspects in custody are all adolescents? Per chance did you read my comments about law enforcement and their 'take' on teens? Underage perps won't necessarily be identified to the press/media. Just fools - those adolescent boys. The problem that must get addressed has to be limitations on the size of magazines. These guys had, from one little glimpse I saw, some sort of semi- if not fully automatic firearm with and extended clip. (Not a gun expert, in the least. The weapon looked as if it was an Uzi?)
And, for all the nit-wits out their, at large - you don't want to give these guys press!
professor I am very aware that they are juveniles. If they were the sort of juveniles that you speculated about earlier, we would know who they are, we would know who their parents are and where they live, we would know from classmates and acquaintances that they were weird, we would know if they had any possible white nationalist connections or if anyone in their circle ever said anything in support of a member of a certain political party. But we don’t need to know those things because it looks like this was just a normal occurrence in the KC metro (240 homicides in 2023) except that it happened at a high profile crowded event.
professor Why would you suspect anything different otherwise? It's also the anniversary of the Parkland High School massacre!
More than likely another 'kook' whom lots of people knew; one with known mental health issues and guns. And, nobody said or did anything. Then again, in the recent son beheading his father in Bucks County, PA, no gun was used.
One of the suspects arrested was white male, with shaved head. WTF?!

johnnydoom the press isn't focused on the perps.
This....should always be the way. Just report it happened, then move along quietly, behind the scenes.
professor you don't want to give these guys press!
professor my state has already passed law to 10 round clips. It doesn’t matter I still have the original ones. Any felon can just go buy guns on the street when they lawfully can’t buy a firearm at all. Criminals can always seem to get what they want. They don’t care about rules or laws. Even if they couldn’t get guns it would be home made bombs or something. We seem to have more of an abundance of evil assholes in the world than ever before
Ok, so back to Travis Swift…
Typhoon Travis Swift…
He and Reid are just mediocre freeloaders cashing in on the greatness of Mahomes. Taylor taught Travis everything he knows about grabbing balls.

Well, what a terrible thing to say about someone's daughter!

johnnydoom I think you seriously underestimate Andy Reid. Give him two weeks to prepare and he will come up with a gold game plan. And at the half he made the right adjustments.
Yes, other coaches would also win a lot if they had Mahomes, but I kind of think that the Mahomes-Reid relationship is symbiotic.
rsvman2 Hopefully you know that was supposed to be a joke, albeit not the best.
Gees, there's so much interest in Taylor Swift here, maybe the forum Swifties should start a new thread.

Yeah... I don't know anything about that, nor why you might be speculating such. Have there been intimations of such? Very little detail's been shared just yet. But that's okay. Law enforcement along with the DA's office needs to build their case. Hopefully it's going to be rock solid. All I've read or heard is there was an argument but, nothing more. Who was trying to shoot whom and for what reason?
The guns aren't going to go away. The least we could do is eliminate large magazines and absolutely do background checks. Yeah, I know there's a huge black market. But Geez! Can we do something? Anything?
bigshank We seem to have more of an abundance of evil assholes in the world than ever before
Agreed I think we've seen a sharp rise in conjunction with many failures in American society. I don't really answers nor solutions to that. I've got some but, it's really complex. At the most basic level it's Parents! (I get kind of torqued about those who blame teachers and schools. Our schools have been failing the kids if one just looks at academic data - grades, test scores etc... But I'd suggest that it's many parents who fail both their kids and schools. Good parents support those educators to whom they entrust the care of their kids. But FFS, parents shouldn't expect schools and teachers to raise their kids. Parents would be wise to partner with their children's teachers.)
Par4QC Well, what a terrible thing to say about someone's daughter!
Nah, that's some good humor there!

Ever seen Andy Reid's team's record in their games following their bye week? Pretty outstanding.
johnnydoom Ha! Missed it. It went right over my head. Lol
