Moeman

On FGI in was Supperman and I enjoyed our round in Houston. I don't remember all of the FGIers who were there, but I the name Larryd comes to mind. I took a bunch of pictures but I lost them somewhere several years ago.

I only played in one FGI get-together. It was in the mountains of North Carolina somewhere. Occurred maybe sometime between 1997 and 2000? I want to say maybe 1998, but I'm mt sure. I know Persimmon was there, and Moeman. I got paired with the infamous Phileo. I want to say Rickochet was there, too, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I played like crap; well, at least scored like crap. It was one of my worst rounds in years. Persimmon accused me of being a vanity-capper. LOL. Maybe I was, a little. I estimated 11 and I was probably a 12 or 13 at the time. But my score sure didn't show it.

One thing I remember about Persimmon is that he hit a 2- or 3-iron off the tee pretty frequently, and he hit it pretty well.

rsvman2 I want to say Rickochet was there

Not me. I joined FGI in about 2001 and have only played FGI related golf in Louisville and Indianapolis.

FauxAmish In that case the event was in the early 2000s. Maybe around 2002-2004?

I made my first human contact via FGI in 2001. Prior to that most of my contact was related to club-building and I pretty much stuck to that. Red Dog (Reddog?) Was the guru at the time.
The Northeast corridor group got together a few times in New Jersey at Scotland Run (and there was another smaller gathering at another Jersey course - something related to "horses" as I recall.
The largest gathering at Scotland Run provided for in-person meetings for the first time for many. Persimmon, Cliff, attended. There had been a lot of banter at the time about our respective NFL teams. Cliff gifted me, in front of the whole crew, in the clubhouse, post-round, with a roll of toilet paper with the Eagles logo. In attendance were the likes of JDerion, Mickeygoo, maybe PuttnFool, Weekend Hacker and many others I don't remember. Weekend Hacker was an interesting slightly younger dude. He had an interesting golf "philosophy". He was a big proponent of taking a mulligan on every single shot, if so desired. Yeah, it's a concept but just a little contrary to the rules of golf. LOL

MidwayJ I once mentioned in an email to one of you Canadian guys that I unfortunately typo'd an extra zero in the value of the head I shipped. So $300 instead of $30, or something like that. The very end of the message revealed it was BS.

        @MellowJ Was this you? 🙂

Spuzz I guess that answers that question, lol. Hmmm. Still trying to recall who it was.

Lowpost42 (Ben) from Espanola, Ontario was a huge ho and club builder, so maybe it was him.
            That is my best guess.

              professor

Pretty sure he went as “Rales”. He lived in Fresno, Ca.@livegolf and I played with him quite a bit locally. Haven’t heard from him in over 10 years.

Spuzz OK I found some old emails (not the exact one) but I'm pretty sure it was Glen Pridham. Don't remember his FGI name. You probably will, lol.

MidwayJ Glen Pridham. Don't remember his FGI name

Still a mystery to me, although the name is sorta familiar.
Not a Northern Storm participant, iirc.

reddoggolf is/was from Oregon and at one time or maybe at that time early 2000's worked at Carlton Saw Chain. We had some back and forth as I am a hardwood logger from So. WI so we talked shop clubmaking and saw chain (logging).

Back in 2004 I was in Minnesota and got in a couple of rounds with some fine FGIers.

From left to right: Sorry, I don't recall the first guy, but the other three are Mizunogolfer, Stroh, and me.

I have that photo on my PC ....I will find it and post it...

I remember Glen from the old days. I even have a bunch of emails from him between 2007-2011, but I don't remember his handle on FGI. HIs email was golfgoof, but I don't think that was it?
