Spuzz mack (brian)

Pretty damn sure @mack is who sold me this putter on FGI around 20 years ago give or take…

Wow…reading this entire thread sure brought back some great memories and it sure doesn’t seem that long ago but it has been…Cheers to FGI and all of those who taught me so much and also enabled my self experimentation via club Ho’ing all those years 🍺🥃

I believe mack (brian) was the guy on FGI that played all the same total weight Ping irons. A guy that fiddled with his clubs as much as anyone and believed in the total weight sameness concept. Mack is a good player.

professor CoachSB was Chris. He has an autistic son and over time, needing to learn more to best love and meet his son's needs, he just naturally followed a path to work in human services. We used to correspond years and years ago.

As mentioned Coach was Steve Bowers. You are thinking about Chris Raley. Ex Air Force and super dad to his son. I follow Chris on facebook. He got into video production for a while and now makes cool miniature replica neon signs.

MidwayJ Tim sold at MyOstrich. I recall some controversy about Bramptons. There must have been a bad batch because some FGIers reported failures

I did have some iron heads start to twist. For a while I was blaming the grips twisting. Fortunately didn't have any flying heads.
TIm was great. I recently dug out my old iGolf gps that he sold.

scotts33 He might have and I definitely did. My Cally Apex Pro Forged '16 irons were all MOI matched and then backweighted to the same total weight. Current sent is MOI and backweighted, but they get a bit lighter as they get longer. Thinking I should go back to same static weight though lol.

scotts33 Mack is a good player.

Better person and he was a Ping nut for sure.
My first major transaction on FGI was a trade with him. Ping Darby putter to him for an industrial grey SMT Nemesis. 😮

My first transaction (and later a build) was a buy of a Zero Tolerance 58 degree wedge head from Darthfader.
He sent it to me marked as "coffee cup" to get it through customs without it being taxed.
    It worked btw.
    LOL

Spuzz Speaking of customs, I once mentioned in an email to one of you Canadian guys that I unfortunately typo'd an extra zero in the value of the head I shipped. So $300 instead of $30, or something like that. The very end of the message revealed it was BS. Their reply said they started to freak out for a few seconds, lol. Don't remember who it was, though.

MidwayJ Don't remember who it was, though.

        Not me.
The only thing I remember getting from you was a pair of Alpha RX? hybrids and no issues.
Kept them for a long time.
        🙂

scotts33 I remember that total weight concept. When I was backweighting clubs last year I thought about giving it a try. I still might, lol

Spuzz Yeah it definitely wasn't you. I had those Alpha RX clubs in the bag for quite a while before selling to you. I kept the 3h even longer. I hit that thing 95% as long as any 3w. Loved it as my next option off the tee after the driver.

          darpar

Yeah....I am still hanging at "da beach"...
Actually went to DS xxx this year...
Don't post a lot but have good memories of long lost friends at Bryant's "Paws & Balls"....DS's...playing all over the place with Darpar, Superman, lots of FGI'ers from Houston.
          robbieCA...Potash...all the AZ mafia..

            Another couple Steve Almo stories:

            1. When he left Bang Golf and split with his partner he took a momento from the display case. It was a P1 Prototype driver head, something like 300cc. These were the numbered heads - "x of 1000". Took the 1 of 1000. Technically not really his to take, so he sent to some guy for free.

            2. I offered to help with promoting the Bangster Bangster OL. He was such a character! Quick wit, insightful, irreverent. It was fun, I thinked I helped with a giveaway...iirc.

LBlack14 The Fort in Indy, 2010 or 11.

I played The Fort in about 2010 with some FGI dudes and carted up with XBanker (Fauxamish) that day. I see him and RangerX in that pic. I think there were at least 20 players. Were you there that day? We played Cool Lake in Lebanon the same weekend. I remember it being a super hot/humid day.

Naaah. We only had the 7. I partnered up with Pat and Russ. It was sunny, 70° and beautiful.

MellowJ P1 Prototype driver head, something like 300cc.

                300cc and white.
I had Number 253 or something with an uncut Bang LD shaft in it that I used as a tempo trainer at the range.
