pondball toraider yup, was a shame when FGI disintegrated. Really enjoyed the NS weekends, and the online banter, the GAS attacks in Buy & Sell! Ahhhh! The good old days π
LogicalOne Those were some major fun days back then. FGI was more like βhomeβ versus all of the other forums I felt. Things started going south for me personally in 2006 when I got divorced and then I pretty much hit rock bottom in 2007 and started losing interest in golf (Iβm pretty sure @Par4QC ended up with most of my golf stuff lol). It was great when I got that invite email from @jrock years later though. Great to reconnect with so many great people. π
Par4QC LogicalOne Had I had my truck back then, I would have ended up with a lot more of your things! Damn, that was a long while back. π€
professor pike51 Who was the really hot chick that used to post on FGI? I think she was also a model or stripper or something? That was Golfer Lady and she was not a stripper. She was quite well-informed and for a middle-aged woman she was also quite attractive. A real classy lady!
Rickochet professor That was Golfer Lady and she was not a stripper. She was quite well-informed and for a middle-aged woman she was also quite attractive. A real classy lady! A few more ladies I can remember are Eagle, Marciaintexas, Robbieca.
MidwayJ Par4QC Had I had my truck back then, I would have ended up with a lot more of your things! Wow, you were hell bent on taking advantage of someone who was down. π
LogicalOne d5n03 I remember that I totally fell in love with the FST shaft lineup they had back then. Same with SharPro grips. Both companies work super easy to work with and very down to earth.
professor Rickochet A few more ladies I can remember are Eagle, Marciaintexas, Robbieca. Yeah, again...memory, I may have been mistaken about Golfer Lady. My recall was about Robbieca not GolferLady.
Spartan Rickochet I played golf with Robbieca once at Desert Storm. IIRC The foursome included CallMeAL, and I another guy that I think was called NavyChief. Seems like his name was Sam and ended up having some serious health issues.
Spuzz pondball Hey! Great to hear from ya. Hope you stick around and all is well. Hope your renovations are finally done too. lol
pondball Spuzz yup..l finally finished all indoor renos, and finally had sense enough to hire someone to do the landscaping ones - that took forever! Iβd forgotten all about this forum until my old name was legged here thus week. Fond memories of some good times, online and at NS.
SMT LogicalOne I remember that I totally fell in love with the FST shaft lineup they had back then. Same with SharPro grips. Both companies work super easy to work with and very down to earth.
LogicalOne SMT I do not know what that means Mike, but know that I have NEVER forgotten about you. I have a hard time expressing it without thinking about how things started to go downhill for me during that time and how it impacted the relationship we had. π
SMT LogicalOne , It was a joke for all the older guys I guess.... hahaha Our relationship is and always has been fine. I am here for anything you might need. Give a call 888-693-4001 x 1
SMT Spuzz I was gonna' call Kelly first but I can't find a number on the website. I already talked to you once this year. hahahahahahahahahahaha
johnnydoom You can tell this thread is about "old" memories when you read about people calling each other on a phone.
Spuzz LogicalOne I bypassed all that as I had my own direct line called the Spuzzphone. It wasn't red though. It was Nemesis purple.
Rickochet LogicalOne When I got to go over and tour SMT headquarters, this was happening: I actually got to work one of those old switchboards in the late 60's as an operator. The company hired college students part-time to help out the full timers. It was actually a lot of fun once you learned how to use it. It took a lot of hand/eye coordination and you would often get 10 calls working at the same time. Other companies' ops would often question us since we were the only male operators in the US. And many of the full time older lady operators did look and sound like Lily Tomlin's Ernestine. "Is this the party to whom I'm speaking?" π€£
MidwayJ LogicalOne tour SMT headquarters That reminds me, didn't @SMT or someone else describe what an epic journey to Oswego, IL it was to get there? π
