I think the new 9 hole score is better than the previous methodology that combined 2 , 9 hole scores on different days, on different courses, under different conditions.
Plus , it has always been that we have entered our expected score on holes when we did not complete a round due to darkness, course maintenance, weather etc, so this is nothing new.
plus, it will allow all those players who regularly just play 9 holes to establish a handicap quicker and one that is probably going to be more accurate.
This change will have zero impact on the game IMO.
the ball roll back is different, definitely needed at the pro/elite level, not convinced that it does any good at the amateur level, but then again I truly believe that few amateurs are going to switch to a reduced flight ball. I wont be
