😳what a kick

Massive let down by the special teams from SMU!

I don't agree with the announcers about the potential of SMU not making it would de-incentivize th conf championship and set a dangerous precedent🤔.....they lost. There resume is not very good and they didn't auto qualify. When you put it up against Bama the only thing they have over them is that they made the conf. Championship and one less loss. Otherwise it's not even close. I don't care as I hate the SEC and Bama and would rather see someone else, but the announcers argument/s are not good ones!

jsippy73 Penn State played great in a losing cause. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Right? They played two really good teams. Lost to both of them.

ode I don't agree with the announcers

Y'all think I'm "bad" here?! I never agree with the announcers. LMFAO

Aside from TV networks hating it, I’ve often wondered how much different football (and other sports as well) would be if time were not the determining factor for deciding when the game was over. Why not “first team to ‘x’ many points”?, or “first team to be leading by ‘x’ many points”?, or even a combination of those two? I don’t think I would miss the excitement of teams taking a knee in the last minutes of games.🤣

ode I love the SEC. Don't care if Alabama is in or not, but your argument is much more sound than the argument the announcers kept trying to make that "you don't want to punish a team for playing in it's conference championship". Sounds like a wonderful argument from a "fairness" standpoint, but if policy, whether formal or informal, it incentivizes conferences to try and fix the outcome of their championship game in order that both teams can get into the playoff if you already know one is in regardless of the outcome. It also makes the conference championship game as meaningless as the bowl games the playoff was supposed to replace.

I knew you'd be coming along with some fucked up comment. That's all you do. It's all you know how to do. Tired of your shit. Go away. You're nothing but a serial insulter, you should be so proud of yourself. I pm'd a friend that you would do exactly what you did. You know nothing else but to insult. Get some help. You act like a spoiled little bully.
To those who want me banned. DO IT, but what I have stated above are pure FACTS.

professor Yeah, go get your asses kicked by a worthy opponent. Haven't played many and lost to the one that was most important. LMAO

This is his response to my post saying nothing but "Go Penn State".

johnnydoom you don't want to punish a team for playing in it's conference championship".

I think it depends entirely on how they got there. If the two teams meeting in the championship each had several major tests along the way, it’s a little unfair to use the inevitable loss for one of them - against them. However, if one of the teams had a cake walk of a schedule (few or no significant wins against quality competition) the championship game might be the only way to fairly evaluate whether they are worthy of playoff consideration.

For me one thing is sure...Oregon will not win the National Championship. All they need is to play a team with a decent defense and they are done.

Only defenses that impressed me of late is Georgia, Texas and maybe ND.

jsippy73 I knew you'd be coming along with some fucked up comment.

It's simply an accurate observation. Who were the two highest ranked teams they played? They lost to both.

Walterjn jsippy73 they really did play well! I do wish that the score reflected that.

Somebody tell me how multiple personal fouls in the first half of the game reflects "playing great". It cost them the game.

professor Y'all think I'm "bad" here?! I never agree with the announcers. LMFAO

I don't listen to announcers. Watching sports on mute is so peaceful.

ode Oregon, Georgia, Boise St, and Az St. Get byes.
              5-Texas vs. 12 SMU / Bama
              6- PSU vs. 11 Clemson
              7- ND vs 10 Indiana
              8- Ohio St. vs. Tennessee

Well I was close. Clemson 12. Who's gonna be 11🤔....I thought the committee might reward the conf champ. But the committee clearly has no respect for the ACC. I think that does not play well for SMU!

WOW....SMU......did not think they would do that. Do not agree, poor conference and lost in the conf champ too an average Clemson team....and virtually no good wins. Beat some solid teams but are any even in the top 25?

And now seeing it on paper the conf champ bye is wonky and silly! Texas has the easiest road based on ranking. Agree with Galloway. SEC gauntlet hard to deal with and makes them prone to an upset like Bama at Vandy...and agree with Coach. SOS should be taken into consideration ALL YEAR which is my big gripe with the rankings all along!
