professor Somebody tell me how multiple personal fouls in the first half of the game reflects "playing great". It cost them the game.

Keep it going. Can't stop.

It's simply an accurate observation. Who were the two highest ranked teams they played? They lost to both.

REALLY looking forward tho these games.....everyone if them, especially ND/Indiana and PSU/SMU ..... And don't sleep on Ohio St/Tennessee. I think the B1G has a TOUGH road with those matchups and Oregon gets hosed with how the auto bye/seeds pushed the better teams further down.

    ode Oregon gets hosed

It sure looks that way! Not a great reward for finishing number 1.

If you are #1 that means you have best team and should not care who you play. What does Oregon want to play William & Mary as long as William does not show up

News Flash! Never going to be perfect in everyone's eyes.

brownmoose13 lol there are no William and Marys in college football, the playoff used to be two teams and then it went to 4. The wheels of progress in CFB have moved at a snails pace. It's a good ol boys club for sure but things are different now with NIL and conf realignment. The point of the prior comment was that that 2 of the top 4 seeded teams were ranked 1 and 2, the 3rd seed is really 9th ranked and the 4th is really ranked #12 which pushed the 3rd - 8th ranked teams down two spots/seeds each. That is a hose job of epic proportions. Why the committee agreed to do it that way is a mystery. In college basketball where they know what they are doing, as it's been going on forever, if William and Marys gets in they are seeded accordingly, the only tie ins are conf champs which gets you in. Those small schools are typically ranked between 13-16 on there side of the bracket.

        How it should be ranked, with bye team followed by who they play the winner of and in order of how the bracket flows;

        1- Oregon
        8-Indiana/9-Boise St

        4-Penn St.
        5-ND/12-Clemaon

        3-Texas
        7-Tennessee/10-SMU

        2-Georgia
        6-Ohio St/11-Arizona St

ode SOS should be taken into consideration ALL YEAR which is my big gripe with the rankings all along!

I tend to agree but even that format has it's breakdowns. College Hoops uses it. And this is apples and oranges but I watched a good Pitt team get snubbed out of last year's tournament with a much large field. It's gonna happen. And the new format is still better.

jsippy73 Maybe just skip the playoffs altogether?

Yeah, let Richard Nixon declare Texas National Champs! LOL

Please explain? #1 Seed put into the appropriate bracket.

professor 8/9 seeds are really 6/7 ranked teams based on format so not only are two higher ranked teams having to play each other for a chance at #1; #1 is having to play a higher ranked team after getting a bye. It's not just Oregon, it is all of the teams #3-8 got moved down 2 spots, Texas and Penn St. got screwed out of a bye and Tennessee and Indiana get screwed out of a home game. The only teams seeded appropriately are #1 Oregon, #2 Georgia and #12 Clemson. This isn't made up either or based on opinion. It's right there in the committees rankings, LOL. They fucked up and royally by the way they set this up! 👈That being said it is miles better than what it was. Again they don't yet know what they are doing because they've never done it before. Next year will be different guaranteed!

              Thanks
Ah, Boise State and Arizona bumped up. But still isn't the ranking done by pollsters? So it's still inherently flawed. Funny how byes are assumed to be just wonderful, mostly for the rest. However, I've seen teams lose their steam because of a bye and we've all seen a wildcard team in the NFL run the table because they got hot and stayed hot.

professor no, committee ranks...which is fine by me. It's the guaranteed byes for conf championship game winners which has the potential to throw everything into disarray. Auto spot yes, auto bye no. B1G let's go!

ode ode Oregon, Georgia, Boise St, and Az St. Get byes.
                  5-Texas vs. 12 SMU / Bama
                  6- PSU vs. 11 Clemson
                  7- ND vs 10 Indiana
                  8- Ohio St. vs. Tennessee

PSU's playing SMU according to my sources.

ode Since it takes four rounds anyway, should have been 16 trgeams instead of 12. No byes. Straight 1-16 rankings. One plays 16, 2 plays 15, etc.
Didn't happen because... idk, maybe because it makes too much sense? 🤷‍♂️

professor yes, those were my predictions.....noted later in follow up post/s👇

ode Well I was close. Clemson 12. Who's gonna be 11🤔

                      ode WOW....SMU.

                      The bracket 👇

rsvman2 16 would work too, but for now I like the idea of the top 4 getting a week off and a bye, but 🤔

ode As silly as it it to say, Penn State's back-to-back games against SMU and Boise St. looks a lot more appealing than Oregon's one game against TN/Ohio St. With Georgia being crippled up, I like Penn State's or Notre Dame's chances of getting to the final game and be healthy more than I do Oregon, Texas, TN, or Ohio St. With this seeding I think it's anyone's game and will randomly be rooting for an Arizona St. vs IU final.

johnnydoom yes, if Penn St. play up to their ability they have a decent shot! Texas sort of in the same boat although I would not underestimate Clemson they are the weakest in the field followed by Arizona St, although they looked good in the B12 championship. Going to interesting to see it all shake out!
