johnnydoom Yahoo sports said Nick Saban retired.

It's going to fun now.

azgreg I think McCarthy has a chance to be a decent QB. I'm thinking in the realm of Phil Simms.

I don't see it. Career back up, maybe.

darpar I'm surprised he waited this long!

Same for Pete Carroll, I guess that's all they have in life. Man, go out and enjoy life. Just don't take up golf.

Who's Bama gonna hire?

I’ll be wrong, but the same as my Texas A&M vote was - Urban Meyer.

darpar Definitely the GOAT of college football

No question. Certainly the greatest in modern day college football. Comes from the Bill Belichick tree. Was unsuccessful as an NFL head coach. Mentioned his legacy in his retirement announcement. Imagine that. Little Nicky Saban loves golf.⛳️

Penix kept grabbing onto his flak jacket like his ribs were hurting. It did seem like he took a shot early in the game where a Michigan defender landed on him pretty hard. He'll be ok from that, but I doubt talking about it will make any difference in his draft stock or alleviate any worries that fans of his next team might have.

johnnydoom I was a bit suspicious, still am, as to how he was holding that right shoulder down. He kept that upper arm tight to his body, which is not consistent with a lower injury.

I don't like to judge another man's pain but I was getting serious vibes that he was overplaying the injury. It was like "Look I'm hurt, I really don't suck this badly". As usual I could be wrong.

        Lanning staying at Oregon.

Sneakylong I'm not sure why (lack of size and speed, I guess), but Brady was vastly underrated by the draft. Even at Michigan they kept trying to find a way to start Drew Henson ahead of him after he had led Michigan to a successful season and bowl win as the starter the previous year.

MidwayJ A different era of college football, for sure - a player in that position now would simply enter the transfer portal and move to a school that wanted him as a starting QB.

MidwayJ I think it was a matter of the staff really liking Henson and feeling like they had to play him. I remember the talk/hype a out Henson and a lot less chatter about Brady....he flew under the radar for sho!

ode No doubt the case about Henson, but Brady eventually beat him out, played great, and then the NFL teams still wanted to look at other guys. 😄
