But, if Chicago doesn't take him, I think he is all yours. Chicago has picks 1 &10 right now. Of the 8 teams in between, at least 5(?) may be looking for a starting QB. AZ & NYJ are not. Draft day trading will probably set records.

Par4QC If they keep Fields, I think they trade out of 1st, and lower than you think. Say Denver, Atlanta, LV. That gets them first round picks for 2024, 25, 26. Plus a lower pick and/or a starting center or something. Is Harrison worth that? I just don't see Poles turning down a huge return of future draft picks to take one great WR.

Then with their first pick they select the best WR available, because there are other good ones in the draft. Or the TE from Georgia.
Then with their second 1st rounder they select OT or Edge. I will not be shocked if they draft a high ceiling but project QB somewhere in the top 75 picks.

DonM If they don't want a QB, they will get plenty of bling for that #1 this time. And yes, it's the Bears, so they will bypass anything really good this draft if they get future 1st rounders. At #10, they can still get a top, much needed, player.

Should be no less than 5 in the 1st round, probably in top 10.
Mock drafts shows NE taking Maye ,which is a ~~good~~ 1 of the best picks, imo. Big sumbich, can pass/run. Of course, that same mockup shows Bears taking Williams at #1. Not. Happening. (I hope not anyway😒)

johnnydoom These mock drafts make me laugh out loud.
There are several teams that desperately need QBs this time around. And they need the best there is in the draft. And imo, some teams should even look at drafting backup QBs in early rounds, which doesn't really make much sense.....that is to say, prior to this season.
The Bears certainly have the Golden Ticket this time, more so than last draft. I don't think they will be able to keep it.

Wouldn't surprise me to see 5 weekly mock drafts from now til the real draft.

propman Every sports writing know-it-all has already had 1 and will continually revise them, so there will be plenty to come. The last one will be the day after the draft, when they are all 'reasonably' correct. Yet some will still be wrong.😅

I'm just struggling to see a world where Chicago keeps the 1st pick and not take a QB.

azgreg imo, they won't be taking a QB, unless later on. Yeah, a rookie contract would save them several million...right now. But what happens if that guy doesn't work out? Better to keep someone with a few years under his belt and load up around him/help him to become what everyone thinks he should be. Like DonM said, they can do just that by having that #1 pick and trading it.

Maybe the next mock draft has them getting rid of Fields, and moving Bagent to #1😲, with his already rookie contract. HUGE savings! And still trade off that #1 pick.
