scotts33 He didn't turn the ball over because they ran the read option, and if he did have to pass they rolled him out so he could either attempt to hit the one option he had or throw it away. Hopefully some more reps will open up a bit more of the playbook.
Kudos to their D, they have held up well. A bit surprised they haven't played some of these guys prior to the Oregon game because the defense really came alive. Same with Ituka, clear difference after he came in as his speed and athleticism was a step up. The O line has played a bit better the past two games and are trending in the right direction.
Too bad the hole Paul Chryst and his staff left them in but this is the byproduct of his era. Sounds like Fickell will get his fair shake and the AD will open up the checkbook to get some talent in. A decent QB is a must as Simmons and O'Neill are both barely passable at this level. Hard to assess the 4 star recruit given the circumstances, but he did not look good throwing the ball. Running the read option is a stop gap that will get the kid on the IR like Edwards and O'Neill.
