        Me too. I saw them in Sioux Falls, SD. The other band that started the show was called "Texas." I remember that I was impressed with them that night but never heard of them again.

          Yeah, Felix Pappalardi was very talented as well. Tragically he was shot and killed in 1983 by his wife who was also in the music business.

            While stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA in 1985, I was visiting relatives in Florida during holiday leave. We were hanging out in Orlanda where there was a party for the Citrus Bowl and Ricky Nelson was playing. Not my genre of music, but I remember being super impressed by his band. The sound was great and that band was effing TIGHT. It was his next to last performance, his plane crashed on New Year's Eve.

            Got to see them in St. Louis in a show with America. This was sometime in the late eighties and both bands were well past their peak, but it was a good show in a small venue (Westport Plaza). Also remember seeing Don McLean in St. Louis at the VP Fair. Was kind of sad that between every song the crowd kept yelling "pie". So he sung it and then most of the crowd cleared out. We stayed for the rest of the show and he was very entertaining. Got to see Lonnie Brooks (Chicago Blues Musician) on the same day and his show was great fun.

              Just thought I'd post this guys link here. He has a great YouTube channel that has some great stories and interviews of musicians in the Rock era. I think many here would enjoy it.

              My wife saw Three Dog Night and the Doobie Brothers at the Cape Cod Colosseum back in the 70's. Said they were great.

              The name Three Dog Night comes from the Eskimo's, meaning it was so cold it took three dogs in bed with you to keep warm. Didn't learn that from the Professor. Actually knew about that piece of useless information a long time ago. 😎

              Walterjn how was Marin? I like her sound.

              She was just OK. I wasn't overly impressed but she was just starting out and was the first of three acts. She was all alone playing a guitar and singing. They were bragging her up and saying she was going to be a big hit but I couldn't see it.
              Boy was I wrong! After hearing her with a full band and her first album I became a fan too.
