ode sloppytypist they were a very good stick. Super playable, longer blade length, sole widths were a bit narrower in the heel, wider in the toe and a really nice pre-worn/be led leading edge with more bounce than this gen. Similar to the PTM. You just don't see nice touches like that on clones. You are correct they wer not the best looking but do you think Ping G series look good🤔. About as fugly as they come but super playable. I did not care for the feel of the STi. Almost too forgiving /sometimes not always sure where the misfit was and the on center not quite that flushed feel. Miss that set. Unloaded em cheap to someone on this board.
ode candukid same specs. Maltby has upped their aesthetic game for sure. Hopefully they will follow suit with hybrids, fairway woods, and drivers where they are lagging behind a bit. Some marginal improvements but they still have a long way to go!
sdandrea1 sloppytypist So the big question is why not pay $5 more for the ke4 for Max? Isn't the KE4 Max a step up in GI? Bigger, wider, stronger lofts? Different club head,?
ode sloppytypist I like the STi2 better, a bit more versatile for me. I could not get used to the sole on the Max on partial and punch shots. Ended up being too bouncy for me. Full shots they were $. Super forgiving. I am in the trees enough and finally gave up on em!
candukid sdandrea1 Yes, different. The KE4 Max is my gamer set. They are both great heads however. The KE is just ‘better’ for me.
VigilanteTrail candukid Cleaner Removing Maltby from the sole and going with just their badge was a solid choice IMHO
Spuzz VigilanteTrail Removing Maltby from the sole and going with just their badge was a solid choice IMHO Agreed. Cleveland used to do the same with the sole. I was always digging dirt out of the name. Ugh.
azgreg bad9 Thats the only thing I don't like about my KE4 Tour Agree. That's why I removed the badges from mine.
azgreg DeepRed I think it’s about the Maltby script on the sole that is always full of dirt Can't help anybody there. Not welding and grinding these. I'll leave that to the pros at Flanigans.
Walterjn azgreg get some clear nail polish and fill it in. That's what I did with the numbers on my Callaway irons. Did a color change, and then topped it all off with clear nail polish and let it dry. No more dirt issues there.
Walterjn DeepRed easy to apply, and clean out. As a bonus, you can get almost any color you desire, costs less than $10 most places, and if you pick a color your wife/ gf likes, she can use the rest of the bottle.
