I know.

So many seated at the top management level had no business being there. They don't have the technical know-how, and they could not manage their own family if they try, but copy those procedures from a book or lecture to blindly implement the " new and better way " of doing things. Even when there is no need to change anything, they'd look "busy" by interrupting other's life and work.
Sigh !
I know someone once said, don't need to know everything about any product or service to sell it. B.S. and that's what it really is. The root of all problem.

      Good God I can relate to this. Been at my job 15 years. Nothing has changed in the goal...deliver a product on the truck to a customer.

      We have now complicated it SO much by people that are trying to justify their jobs that we will all be out of work.

        Wish I'd have stayed active with the drums. Went through a period of almost 50 years away from it, and now I have to be content with occasional sit-ins with friends. This is me last night.

            FauxAmish Jim and Hicks both walk (when they don't stumble) to different drummers ... but, then again ... don't we all.

            I don't know who Jim and hicks are, but I think I like them.

                Never thought this could be a nice message board before we get the O.M. and/or the email set up.
                Make sure when you post messages to reply to the member intended for the receiver. This will give notification if the receiver st up their notification .

                If one is happy where they are than all the good, the bad, and the ugly contributed and enjoy. If one is not happy where they are, than nothing they did was right even the good.

                I can still walk, but my left side is never the same. Tightness and the pulling of muscle, soreness when weather is changing.
                I can not tell you how good it feels if I prop up my left arm when I sit down in the family room. Better than a tumbler full of first malt.

                  Love those Kentucky Bourbon‎. Unfortunately I'm on alcohol diet. When one gets older, it does not take much to forget what's going on around you.

                    I am currently at the rank of Engineer (driver). It was a promotion when I took this rank, but with the cuts and changes being made, it is now the lowest rank. In the last couple years I have turned down promotion to Lieutenant twice now. Yes, it would be more money, but I just don't think it would be worth it with the work environment being what it is. In just under three years, I will be done with it, not that anyone is counting the days or anything. Things have changed drastically, but I still do not regret this profession. I have saved lives, I have not saved lives. I have saved animals, I have recovered the remains of animals. It can be hard, but that is the reality of life and death. Perhaps the Army helped prepare me for that a bit, it was the first place I watched someone ( a very close friend) die in front of me. All this makes me marvel at some of the trivial things people find to complain about, and help me appreciate what I have instead of always wanting more.
                    My one true regret in life is marrying my first wife (for her sake). The choices I've made that affect my own life make me who I am, but that choice also affected her life. I was just not right for her and did not do right by her. As they say, those that forget history are doomed to repeat it. Remembering those mistakes had a definite affect on the way I have been in my second marriage, which will be 18 years this year.

                      Really, because of human's life spam is limited so no one around us will care in a century. Not kings, queens, emperors, generals.... could escape this.
                      However, you had nailed it on the spot because the world is changing and the pace of changing had picked up in the last couple decades.
                      Can't go backward, we could only be looking forward.

                      What we had learned in a lifetime may not be able to pass on to the next generation, especially when, non was wanted.
                      It's a shame.

                          Release I don't know that I agree with your comment about my next generation - my kids. And, those around me now, caring in a century?! Well, they wouldn't only because they couldn't. We'd all be dead.

                          But, I will tell you, my children (ages 36-27) do care to learn from my experiences. So my concern is different from yours. I'm hoping they can pass on that same caring to their kids (my grandchildren) and if they do, that's takes care of the aforementioned century.

                              "In a century", was a generalized term, not for a specific generation. You'll never know , especially with the medical advancements, we soon will be switching out old body parts for the new ones cultivated in lab with our own cell.

                              You have great kids, as the parents must given proper guidance and assistance along the way. Good parenting usually yield good next generations. I am also very proud of my own kids, so far they are doing everything better than their parents were, and we had tried very hard at our times to be a good person. I can't say that we offered everything they deserved, but we offered all we can.

                              By not wanting the parents experience I was implying to what I had seen with most of the younger generations, the go geyter, ignoring everything to get result kind. I don't know, does one needs to be mean and thoughtless when the competition heats up ? I also realize it's a build-in human progressive gene to rebel and evolve.

                              I hope I had taught me kids the right way. Never fall into the rat race because at the end it's not what you get but how you get there.
