Has anyone hit the SMT 455 V2 yet? It has been out for almost a year but I haven't seen any chatter about it on here, or any other forum for that matter, and...

No idea...there is no SMTgolf website anymore so I guess not. If I could use them on DTG that'd be cool.

Typhoon I don't know if they've actually bought the brand name or just partnered with Tait, but yes basically SMT = DTG.

good luck with that. I have a pile of them from like 2006 as well as well as a Broken SMT watch, worn out gloves and cracked Encore head all with Lifetime warranties I'd like to get replaced. LOL

SMT's building backs up to where I went to high school. They are still there AFIK but not making anything more, Tait switched gears to focus on running golf tournaments instead.

Now you guys made me want to pull the Harrison shaft from the db455 and put the Accuflex VS339 back into it.

I will do that if I have some free time this evening.

I don't know if I could still motor the original VS in tour flex, also have a stiff in V2 and could use that one.

never tried the afterbirth versions but heard specs were different. I bought a dozen or more of the original Accuflex shafts on close out from Jody and Christian when they decided to close shop. Have a few Icon fairway pulls and might have one AssassinV2 and one Icon V2 left , the rest all gone. That was a longgg time ago now

I still have my 455/vs339 ! I have an extra vs339 x flex lying around if anyone is interested.

Also got an Accuflex proLD for LD things.

Weirfan would be interesting to see how they performed with today's heads. The vs339 and db455 combo was awesome......played a whole summer alternating between it and an Indio/UST Proforce 75 Tour Reserve (sst pured before graphics, and grey/black color scheme vs. The purple/yellow on the regular model).....both those sticks were bombers....amazing how similar the results and ball flight were......w/ the DB455 being slightly more consistent, longer overall, and more solid feeling, although i'd hit the occasional bomb with the Indio.

Ding it, Forgot it'll be a PITA to remove shafts from the db 455.

Almost toast the paint on the hosel. The VS339 is back in the db 455 and should be able to play it today , only if the weather allows. A surprise snow showers this morning only about an inch or two on the ground but since this was a surprise, the County crew was not ready to clear the roadways. Big mess everywhere.
More snow showers this coming weekend...... pits.

Release On those deep bore heads, turn them upside down before heating. Stay away from the hosel as much as possible. The 455 has very thin paint. Heat the heel, slowly,(this is the thinnest part of the 455 head....tons with heel dents went back for warranty!!)) and let the heat rise up, and every few seconds hit the hosel with a bit of heat. Takes a lot longer to do a good job on these heads, but I've pulled many shafts from them with no scorching. If I was planning to repaint anyway, then I blasted the hell out of them.
