Agree with your analysis. The only number that seems out of wack is the Smash Factor - seems very high
with the driver considering the other factors. Settings ?

Looks fine to me. Your swing speed is similar to mine. Carry distance is accurate for our swing speed.

It’s very hard to change a swing dynamically. Especially at our age. Much easier to change static things like grip, stance, ball position etc..

One thing you may want to try is hovering your driver. I used to do that and had good success. It can help shallow your swing.

Eguller Yeah, I think it’s an indoor Trackman thing that is bullshit. I’ve noticed that on the indoor Trackman bays but not using the unit outside. That’s the reason I didn’t bring it up… it’s not right.

Red this below… basically it’s how Trackman reads the head shape and where the center of the face is. So it reads clubhead speed low but ball speed, a seperate parameter is read correctly so the smash factor numbers are inflated.

Trackman 3 and earlier measure club speed at the heads geometrical center of the face, typical a tad heel side (up to 3/8" according to Trackman) , so if impact is made toe side, actual club speed is higher than whats used to return smash factor. Thats why we are able to see numbers above 1.495 for drivers.

So Gary, you might have hit it on center but Trackman is reading it toward the toe and giving you the wrong clubhead speed and smash factor. If you’re concerned with where you hit it on the face, use foot spray. I tell people to disregard clubhead speed all the time… it means nothing if contact is shit. Ball speed is where it’s at for the most part… as long as you get food launch and carry.

Those numbers are for the techno nerds who advise the pros...they have to say/do something to continue getting paid or they're no longer relevant. Just go out and play and enjoy the game...The 99.5% of us who are not tour pros will never approach the skill level that is necessary to make actual, observable, repeatable improvements in our swing that make those numbers have any real meaning...

You can just go out and play and enjoy the game which most everyone does. But you can also do that with better fit equipment that helps you enjoy it even more. Either way …people choose to do whatever they want.

It’s like shoes/ clothes… you can walk around in shoes or clothes 2 sizes too big or small but wouldn’t you enjoy the walk better wearing the proper size?

Right now I don’t play with stuff fit for me. I have only a demo TW blade 7 iron with a 135 gram tour issue shaft. 3 wedges with 115 gram shafts. I just don’t care. I could play better with a full set of clubs fit for me but I just don’t care. And I do clubfittings for work.

I'm not a swing expert. But I remember you going through some swing changes....have they taken hold?

The other thought is, and i don't know if you fit this scenario or not, but I cannot rely on indoor #'s because my swing is different....the ball flight and numbers do not match what I see on the course....and I rarely I'd ever feel comfortable hitting indoors, especially if the space is cramped and people are moving about. That goes away the better the facility is set up.

ode I'm the same way. My fitter has a pretty nice area, but I feel confined and I just don't swing a driver or even fairway wood the same. With a 6i I will get what I expect, but I feel like I can't take a full swing with a driver. I'm sort of the same way at my home course. It's narrow with OB on 9 holes, water on 2 holes and the rest are just narrow. I go to another course and my average driver distance goes up by 20 yards lol.

KCee to me golf is the experience of it all. Walking, being outside in nature (plants, trees etc. and the wild life), the elements, course conditions for that day and the randomness of it all.....it can be one way at the start of the round and completely different by the end. I get to use my ability to hit the shot that is required. Love it. Gets me in tune with my senses! Nothing wrong with Trackman or LM,s but IMO there is only one element to it swinging a golf club, absent the rest of what I really like about the game!

You had 2 swings out of the 7 that were almost identical. Should be looking at turning Pro!! 👍

You want more distance....swing faster. But, the game really is not about that once we hit a certain age. You are looking at/maybe worrying about 1 club out of 14.
Play to/with your strengths, quit worrying about your weaknesses!!

At most of our ages, IMHO, Trackman is generally not worth it…You get good numbers from it but what good will they be for the 65+ crowd, unless you are Bernhardt Langer??? Let’s face it…The days of us geezers hitting 250 carry + roll are over unless you play in an empty mall parking lot and get 190 + 100 roll out. In my opinion the area of game improvement for us is in the short game of chipping/pitch shots + improvements in putting. I have realized that I can still hit the driver 250+ if I swing out of my shoes - the ball goes 200 straight and 50 right, into the rough/trees. The courses I play regularly will cost you 2 - 3 strokes for that one poor drive, need to keep it in the short grass…So, I practice short game/putting. When I play now I have generally cut from 5 - 10 strokes from my old score by getting better at what I can still improve upon, short game and eliminating the dreaded 3 putt…
