Has anybody tried the Maltby KE4 HiWay Utility Woods? If so, what is your opinion of them??? I can't tell if
they are considered hybrids or fairway woods....I do know they take a .335 wood shaft. I'm thinking I'd like to
try one, but don't know where it would fit in my "arsenal." Reviews appreciated.....

I built and played the 21 with good results. Get the right shaft and I think you'll like it. Sold the head to someone here, but can't remember who. Do a search?

fatshot They sort of look like a Super Hybrid to me inbetween a hybrid and small fairway wood. I keep thinking about trying one, but I recently snagged a used Cally fairway that's been working okay. I've seen mixed reviews on the HyWay that make me think it's just ok. I didn't care for the KE4 TC hybrids, but love the 4w and wish they would make a 7w.

sdandrea1 I bought it and sold it on to someone else after a year. GW need to design high lofted woods the same as their 3 and 5 woods.

Thanks Steve! I used google and found some reviews that said the same things. I'll be heading down to Central Ohio in a couple of weeks.....I'll make it a point to stop at Golfworks and hit their demos !!!

KCee I asked multiple times on the GW forum about a 7w in the same line as the KE4 woods (same shape, loft progression etc) but they just seem unwilling to do it. I ended up going to Callaway Rogue ST woods instead.

bad9 Yeah a # of people really wanted a KE4 TC 7w and it makes sense to me. What doesn't make sense is that Maltby is generally known for making SGI clubs, but yet they don't offer a 7w. I heard they have another line of fairway woods coming that will include a 7w, but no idea when or what it will look like.

When I bought that UFW at the Golfworks outlet store a couple of years ago, the guy told me that they were going to stop making lofted fairway woods b/c they weren't selling, and that they would be offering more hybrids. I agree that it's a mistake b/c I like fairway woods better than hybrids. I guess the Acers by Hireko are one of the only options for those of us who prefer lofted woods to hybrids.....

KCee It supposed to be adjustable and different from the KE4 line which is a mistake IMHO. And its been delayed.

My gripe with that line of thinking is that if you are in a broad line business, you can't make money on every SKU. Some stuff you just have to have, to keep your customers happy.
