backinit As a short hitter, I'd be dead on the course without my FW clubs. I've tried just about everything that comes along, but like you, find almost all to be crap when it comes to face angle, even the adjustable heads now. Plus, the faces are just too damned tall, and that does not allow hitting from rough easily/consistently!!
Back when they came out, I got the Callaway Diablo Octane Tour 3 & 5. The heads are as expected, made for tour players.... low/medium face height, and smallish. No wide footprints! They have always been in the bag, esp. the 3. I have gone thru the usual/forever buying/trying of new, but unless I want to spend outrageous $$ for the new tour heads, I'll never find any that could replace these clubs.
It did take a few years to find the right shaft for me (.350 tips, btw), but they are my go to clubs every round. They only go where you hit them.....or with a great swing where you aimed them๐
. But they never go left when you hit/aim straight.
Square/open faced.
Probably can be found on Ebay, but if sellers are like me, you'll pay for them. Worth the money, imo.
I don't wanna hear it about those ferrules......๐คฌ....they're my clubs. The poon will remain as is.
