DonM Based on the unpainted Stealths, and the extra painted electric yellows, the paint weighs about 5 grams. If anyone cares. You can do this, which adds 10 to 15 grams. Buy 5/8 inch 2:1 non adhesive heat shrink tubing on Amazon.
DonM Walterjn This is from a current thread on GolfWRX about the tubing. Much cheaper. Might need to cancel an adblocker to see the link. Or search this wording on Amazon: Electriduct 5/8" Heat Shrink Tubing 2:1 Shrinkable Tube Cable Sleeve - 50 Feet
ode The big roles of shrink tubing can be found relatively inexpensive on the bay or Amazon.....been a while since I've looked. I'd suggest logo down or finding a shaft that's not too busy and live with it. The downside for this application is the added weight as it will be significant (that's why I did it). It's easy to apply, the transition from ferrule to shrink wrap can look off if that's an issue for you.
sdandrea1 DonM I had a supply of Stealth 70 shafts that were sold after the factory closed. They were sold in the raw, no paint. They did not have any clear coat and didn’t need it. Curious. What color were they in raw form?
DonM sdandrea1 the same color as the unpainted butt sections you see on all shafts. Very dark gray I suppose you could call it.
toraider Google Shaft Wraps or Shaft Skinz. More expensive method with probably the easiest installation.
scotts33 DonM the same color as the unpainted butt sections you see on all shafts. Very dark gray I suppose you could call it. It's the same color for all graphite dark gray like Don said. I'm concentrating and looking ahead of the ball on the swing unsure how color on shaft means much in performance to a golfer like me. 😊
sdandrea1 scotts33 unsure how color on shaft means much in performance I think it probably means nothing in performance to anyone. It's a cosmetic thing, I guess.
Luc_Van_Daele sdandrea1 I like the idea of shrinkwrap tubing, but am shocked how much weight it adds. You can use PVC shrink wrap that is used to rewrap batteries, it's lighter then the electric wrap. It's cheap like 1$/club https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004056783699.html
Rickochet sdandrea1 I like the idea of shrinkwrap tubing, but am shocked how much weight it adds. I have used shrinkwrap when installing a pullout shaft that has been abraided too much and it shows above the ferrule using a small piece that covers the top half of the ferrule and the abraided area.
Typhoon sdandrea1 think it probably means nothing in performance to anyone. It's a cosmetic thing, I guess. Guy at my fitting yesterday. Fit him into a Kaili Blue driver shaft. He wanted to know what else would work because he don’t like the graphics. He liked the HZRDUS graphics.🙄…. Shooter
mulegolf Par4QC Use an automotive paint and clearcoat and they should be as good as or better than anything. I used to use RC car paint. It's made for the plastic RC car bodies and doesn't chip. Then I put a clearcoat made for RC planes over it. Never had a problem with the shafts I painted that way. The RC paint is made to be abused on the plastic bodies of the RC cars. It's tuff stuff. I sprayed it on with a cheap air brush.
Spuzz Typhoon Kaili Blue shaft....Shooter I guess that makes me an official shooter then... Time for some muscle shirts. 🙁
johnnydoom Spuzz I assume it was because he wanted a HZRDUS that didn't fit him instead, because he liked the looks of it better than the Kaili Blue, that makes him a shooter.
Typhoon Spuzz Typhoon Kaili Blue shaft....Shooter I guess that makes me an official shooter then... Time for some muscle shirts. Noooo… he’s a “shooter” because he paid for a fitting, gets fit into a shaft but wants a totally different shaft because he is more concerned with the writing on the shaft than he is with the performance.
