Shaft graphics paint removal?

Has anyone stripped the paint off a graphie iron shaft? I just want plain black. I may have to clear coat after paint removal? Thanks

Par4QC Use an automotive paint and clearcoat and they should be as good as or better than anything.

I used to use RC car paint. It's made for the plastic RC car bodies and doesn't chip. Then I put a clearcoat made for RC planes over it. Never had a problem with the shafts I painted that way. The RC paint is made to be abused on the plastic bodies of the RC cars. It's tuff stuff. I sprayed it on with a cheap air brush.

sdandrea1 I like the idea of shrinkwrap tubing, but am shocked how much weight it adds.

You can use PVC shrink wrap that is used to rewrap batteries, it's lighter then the electric wrap. It's cheap like 1$/club

Guy at my fitting yesterday. Fit him into a Kaili Blue driver shaft. He wanted to know what else would work because he don’t like the graphics. He liked the HZRDUS graphics.🙄…. Shooter

I have used shrinkwrap when installing a pullout shaft that has been abraided too much and it shows above the ferrule using a small piece that covers the top half of the ferrule and the abraided area.

ode PITA process also. That cost is more than I pay for my shaft + grip!!
Their website is very lacking with any info, so one must assume the price is for only 1.

These are much cheaper, 4 in a package. Easier to apply. No solid colors though, except 1 that is questionable after application.

Par4QC Came to the conclusion I am going to just lightly sand and paint them after doing all the tipping/trimming. Use an automotive paint and clearcoat and they should be as good as or better than anything.

Please enlighten us on your talents when you are "lightly sanding" a graphite shaft.

Without using Google - Please share at what temperature graphite, the resins used to hold it together break down.

While you are at it... At what temperature to you PLAN on getting to with your hand sanding?
